Pros: Drive recognition was no problem by both Windows XP and Windows 7. Performance was pretty good. Price was good 7/15, $50 cheaper today.
Cons: 9 months out win XP does not recognize the drive and Windows 7 reports errors. All tools attempted do not help. Formatting and re-partitioning does not help.
I have submitted multiple tickets to Mushkin and they simply do not reply. I cannot locate a phone number to call them.
Now, XP does not recognize the drive and WIN 7 Ultimate 64 reports Drive errors. No tools are able to address the issue, formatting and re-partitioning does not help . Firmware is current. I purchase the extended warranty through Newegg but they will not assist until after the three-year factory warranty.
Other Thoughts: MUSHKIN/NEWEGG PLEASE ASSIST.
I have a $167 paperweight. I two more of these drives I hope I did not experience the same thing.
I thought by buying the extended warranty I had no concerns, I was wrong.
This review is from: macally MEGACAM 2.0 M Effective Pixels USB 2.0 Portable Video Camera W/ Built in Mic
Pros: I purchased this Macally MegaCam Oct 2012. Using WINXP SP3 on an older Dell D620. This camera is clear and responsive. The auto light correction is good and the built-in mic works well. I have not used it that much in almost 3 years, but when I have it's worked perfect. It has been connected that long so it does last. A nice feature is the built-in shutter that you can close when not using the camera. This way even if it is somehow remotely turned on, no image is sent. I paid 44.95 then, I see now it is currently listed for 23.99... At the time, it was the bleeding edge and still pulls it's weight.
Cons: I don't care for WIN8 because it's a resource hog, but related to this camera, I don't know if it will operate under WIN8. I use either XP, WIN7, or Linux. I will not upgrade to bloatware. I like my systems to run my apps and games, not waste resources on the OS.
Other Thoughts: I recommend this camera. It is also adjustable so that it can be hung off of the top of a flat-screen monitor, or as a stand alone camera. XP-SP3 and Win7 recognized the camera with no problems whatsoever.READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: Absolutely every single disc burns tremendously slow about .3, that's why they are so cheap. I tried different burn speeds and different software packages it made no difference whatsoever. I have tried many other brands and all of them work fine. I was patient and tried about 6 discsin various sections of the spindle, they all were bad. I am throwing the rest away. Save your money. I'm sorry I didn't try these sooner and possibly I could have got a partial refund I don't know the policy on bad media?
Other Thoughts: These are the cheapest discs that are on a spindle, there is a reason. They are garbage. Giving 0 stars is not an option but that's what they deserve.READ FULL REVIEW
