This review is from: ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Pros: Full featured board at a fair price. Excellent layout.
Cons: Not really a con...more like a "I wish it worked differently" thing. The on-board wi-fi is a nice feature but it goes to sleep when the PC does, so you can't rely on it as a constant-on access point unless your PC is constantly on as well.
The I/O panel trim bezel was a bit fussy to line up. Had to bend the prongs near the DVI connector back a bit to allow installation. Even with everything lined up and flush, the bezel doesn't feel completely installed. It has a spongy rather than solid feel to it.
Other Thoughts: Installation was straight forward and problem free. Configuration was likewise painless but then, I'm not an overclocking kind of guy. Connector access was no trouble, however, installing the graphics card in the bottom PCIEx16 slot (I didn't) may have made access to connectors and controls on the lower edge of the MB. The included AI Suite offers a lot of features I haven't fully explored yet.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Good price/capacity factor, considering the market. Low profile.
Other Thoughts: I wasn't sure exactly which CPU cooler was in my future (still don't) so I wanted low-profile, high-quality RAM. At the time I purchased, Corsair Vengeance offered just about the best bang for the buck in a stick from a reputable manufacturer. Installation with stock settings was absolutely headache free.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Fast/powerful. Effortless installation. Good price/performance factor.
Other Thoughts: Faster than the GHz would seem to indicate. Although processor speed hasn't advanced like it used to, core counts and hyperthreading have and they add up to quite the punch. My old system was starting to bog down under the latest photo editing and 3D design programs. Not any more.
Stock cooler is better than expected: 28°C @ idle in a stock Corsair 550D case. 35°C under moderate load. Max not yet tested.
