Pros: The monitor is fine. It works. Looks great. No obvious pixel issues.

Cons: The $20 rebate offered with the monitor is bogus. I submitted all the paperwork required for the rebate and in a few months received a prepaid Mastercard from www.payall.com which was supposed to be worth the $20. When I tried to use it on a $20 purchase it was declined. I checked my account balance on line at www.payall.com and it reported a $20 unspent balance. So I called their help line, and after over a half hour on hold, finally spoke with someone who explained that they add a 20% surcharge to use the card. So the supposed $20 dollar rebate is only, actually valid for $16.66 worth of charges. I consider this to be false advertising. The value of the rebate is actually 16.7% less than promised.

Pros: Easy to install and use.

Cons: Only supports 2 drives in any configuration. You can have 2 eSATA or 2 SATA or 1 eSATA+1 SATA, but despite the fact that each eSATA port can support 2 drives, you can't use them both at the same time for 2 drives each. You can only use both ports the same time for 1 drive each.

Pros: Allows right angle conversion of MB SATA ports

Cons: On my MB I needed to sand the edges of the adapter so that they could be installed side by side. The adapters unmodified are just too wide.

Overall Review: If you need it you need it, and will do what is needed to make it work.

Pros: - easy setup - just switched from USB to eSATA (see cons) and that seems to be working - Good technical support. Startech offered a refund.

Cons: - after 6 mos the USB controller started to fail, inconsistently recognizing the installed drives - no longer manufactured, so warranty replacement is not an option

Overall Review: I liked the enclosure. I wish it had continued to work with USB. The jury is out on the eSATA controller.

Pros: When it works, it works.

Cons: - Does not work consistently. - The drawer is tricky to close and often pops back open, needing multiple closings before it decides to stay closed. - The drawer is tricky to open. It rarely pops open when the open button is pushed. And sometimes does not pop open with a s/w command either. - Only writes to 8X DVD+R DL disks. At least that is the only disk format I have had any luck with it writing to.

Overall Review: I would not recommend this at all.

Came with a mini-CD which I cannot use as it does not fit my cd player. Manufacturer website was down and customer service phone was not answered when I called. One touch cloning does not work. Works OK via USB.
