Great for what it is

ASUS GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP)
ASUS GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card ENGT430/DI/1GD3(LP)

Pros: IMO, this card is probably one of the best GT 430s out there. You can't fault its performance for an entry level fermi solution. It is small and comes with the smaller bracket for mounting in smaller platforms. It still looks nice. 1GB of RAM. DirectX 11 support. No extra power cables needed. I give it 5 eggs for being a great card for its class.

Cons: None really.

Overall Review: OK, now for real expectations. This is an entry level Fermi. It supports DirectX 11 but it is slow compared to other Fermi based cards. If you can get by with DirectX 10, the 9600 based cards are about 25% to 30% faster. If you can get by with DirectX 10.1, the GT 240 based cards are approximately 25% faster. Don't expect that this card can perform as well as a higher model Fermi card. I'm planning to get a GTX 460 1GB card to replace this one. If you work with media/editing/gaming, you'll probably want to head that direction too.

Couldn't get rated speed to work

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C18D-64GVK
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C18D-64GVK

Pros: - Good price for 64GB of RAM on 2 sticks. - G.Skill usually has good quality RAM.

Cons: I started with D.O.C.P. XMP 2 rating of 3600, CL 18 but it wouldn't boot. It ended up that the best I could get was 3200.

Overall Review: The motherboard is an Asus TUF GAMING X570 PLUS WiFi with BIOS revision 2802. Couldn't get it to run with the XMP profile to work. It ended up at 3200 when it should have been 3600.

Amazing image editing software value

Corel Paintshop Pro X8 Ultimate
Corel Paintshop Pro X8 Ultimate

Pros: Does a lot of the same things that Photoshop does for a much lower price. The content-aware moves are amazing.

Cons: None.

Great router/access point

TP-LINK Archer C9 Wireless AC1900 Dual Band Gigabit Router
TP-LINK Archer C9 Wireless AC1900 Dual Band Gigabit Router

Pros: As a router this device is fantastic. Setting it up as an Access Point is not very well documented. I have instructions in "Other thoughts" for setting it up as an Access Point.

Cons: Lacks clear instructions on how to configure as an Access Point.

Overall Review: I could not find good information on the Internet for setting up the TP-Link Archer C9 to be used as an Access Point. The only information that I found was that you could turn off the DHCP server and it would work. That's only one of three things that needs to be done. Here is all of the info that you'll need to set up this device as an Access Point. Preliminary step: Using a laptop or other computer; connect to the Archer C9 directly using an Ethernet cable in an Ethernet/Yellow port. Log into the Archer C9 admin web site. This will default to http://192.168.0.1 or http://tplinkwifi.net. 1. Disable DHCP in the web admin by going to Advanced > Network > DHCP Server; and then unchecking the "Enable DHCP Server" checkbox and clicking the "Save" button. 2. Unplug the Ethernet cable from Internet/Blue port. This port must not be used when the device is set up as an Access Point. Plug an Ethernet cable from your local area network into one of the four Ethernet/Yellow ports. 3. In the web admin, click Advanced > Network > LAN. Then assign an IP address (that is part of your local area network) to the Archer C9 and click the "Save" button. The TP-Link Archer C9 will restart at some point so that it will use the IP address that was assigned in step #3.
