CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

5 out of 5 eggs Good Price, Power, and Stability 01/07/2014

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - 500 Watts of power
- Comes with all the plugs you need
- Very sturdy and reliable
- Runs fairly cool

Cons: - Cables can get a little messy

Other Thoughts: This is basically all you need in a PSU. 500 of power, very reliable brand and product, and gives you all the plugs you need. I had a lot of molex connectors to connect to and it has all the connectors I needed for that. The only issues I had were reaching my CPU power port and connecting the 24 power connector, but I attribute that to the motherboard. The only issues I had was cable organization, it got a little mess. Would not recommend if you have a big side window and really care about how it looks.

AMD 760K Richland Quad-Core 3.8GHz Socket FM2 100W Desktop Processor AD760KWOHLBOX
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: - Just $90
- Quad Core CPU
- Easy install
- Fairly poweful
- 3.8 GHz

Cons: - 100 watt power consumption
- Runs a little hot

Other Thoughts: For $90 this CPU has a good price performance. It does run at 100 watt power consumption, but this really isn't an issue, and it runs a little hotter than an equivalent Intel CPU. However, they wouldn't ship you a processor with a fan that can't handle it. It can run Minecraft with fancy graphics at 60 FPS, but I did get some occasional FPS drops but I believe that to be a game issue. Paired with a GTX 760 GPU, it ran Blacklist on ultra at over 40 FPS, and Planetside 2 on medium with high texture quality at 60 FPS.

MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card
  • Owned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: - Decently priced
- Two fans for cooling
- Looks great
- Fairly powerful GPU
- Well packaged and comes with adaptors

Cons: - None to be found so far

Other Thoughts: This is a very well build card and looks good too. It is able to play Splinter Cell: Blacklist on Ultra well over 40 (exact number not known) FPS, Assassin's Creed 4 on high and again over 40 (exact number not known) FPS, Planetside 2 on medium with high texture quality at 60 FPS.
