Pros: AMD fanboy loves A8 2.1Ghz (3.1 Turbo) in VESA mountable package. AMD 8550 graphics allow wide variety of gaming. 1 mSATA and 1 2.5" drive capability allows multiple cache drive arrangements. Went with Crucible 250GB MX-200 SSD and reused 250GB laptop drive to have enough space for OS/Utilities and Apps/Data. Nice package to mount on display/TV or pack for at trip where I know I will have a digital TV to connect to. 8GB RAM on two SODIMM well enough for work and fun.
Cons: Still trying to figure out config to keep it from hibernating. Loaded patch from companion CD but still hibernating. More research to do.
Other Thoughts: Finally, there are some affordable solutions for this size PC. AMD A8 Richland is fast, competent and environmentally friendly. After rebate added 250GB SSD and 8GB RAM for total price of $360. Very happy with results.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: - Cost/GB is going down and more affordable
- SDD uses less power than a mechanical HDD,
saves power and extends battery power on laptops
Cons: - Acronis Lite transfer software
Other Thoughts: I used this 500GB drive to replace the 320GB drive on my Thinkpad 520. The SDD is faster than the HDD and sips power. The 6-Cell battery in the Thinkpad now supports all day use for office applications.
The Acronis image software is OK, but I did not want to have to live with it in its Lite version that came with the SSD. I went with a free 3rd-party solution that I could remove from the drive when I was done.
This is a solid product and I would recommend it especially as the price drops.
Pros: Good performance
Real windows o/s
Clear, sharp screen
SD card expansion
Cons: No external monitor ports
MicroUSB port (not full port or function)
Stylus production snafu
Other Thoughts: I bought this tablet because it has stylus capabilities that a lot of the capacitive screen tablets out there do not. Reading about all the problems Venue users are having out there is disheartening, and the Stylus is not compatible with the Surface stylus, so I will wait until Dell resolves the problem before ordering one. The capacitive rubber headed styluses are terrible for writing.READ FULL REVIEW
