Pros: USB3 and FW gives lots of flexibility. Bus powered is usually fine. Good build quality for the case.
Cons: Not quite as sturdy as the G-drive mini with the full aluminum case, but then it is also smaller. No external power option.
Other Thoughts: We've purchased at least 15 of these for transporting files around, and they've been fine. You can get a clicking noise if the bus isn't sending enough power, so it might just be that the ports aren't sending enough juice to get the drive to spin up.READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: This works like all the other Brother Ptouch units I've used-the software is a little quirky, but it works.
Mac Drivers are available from the Japanese site- it’s a little odd, but not difficult to get the drivers (icons and the same model number make it fairly easy-not sure why there isn't a driver installer on the US site- but the Japanese one is in English. Push the switch to E (which the Mac driver installer DOES tell you to do) and then away you go.
Cons: As mentioned- the leader that gets cut before printing any label makes no sense to me. I realize it can't retract, but this seems just wasteful.
Other Thoughts: I use these all the time, and while the TZe tapes aren't the cheapest things around, they come in a wide variety of colors and styles, and being able to use your own fonts allows you to make things look a little more "branded" when you are labeling for others (I label a lot of installed equipment).READ FULL REVIEW
