Pros: - Awesome sound. Massive improvement over TV speakers.
- Much louder than you would expect from 60W system
- Digital optical input.
- Clean design.
- Decent base. Not deep, not for hip hop parties, but clean and loud.
- System does not require the sub to be plugged in for it to work.You can unplug the sub if watching something at night.
- Loud enough for a living room party with up to 10-12 people.
- Eggcellent value.
Cons: - No "on board" buttons. It can ONLY be controlled through the remote.
- Only 2 types of input: RCA and optical. Regular headphone style cable does not work.
- Remote has a short range. I struggle to adjust anything past 3 yards.
Other Thoughts: First things first. This is a budget bar. This is not a 1000 watt 7.1 surround sound home theater system. So set your expectations accordingly. I have it hooked up to apple TV and any newer movies with decent sound quality sound great, for the price. It was an enormous improvement over TV speakers.READ FULL REVIEW
Cons: -Overly sensitive buttons
-Broke 2.5 months after purchase due to factory defect
-Speakers make droning noise when turned on, even when at 1/100 of volume.
Other Thoughts: I bought this monitor about 2.5 months ago. I liked it. Great colors and response time. However the film started to come off the LCD screen. No, not that thin generic protective film. Tantalizing film. Now there is a 1/2 inch think white strip at the top of my monitor and the picture is not complete. I sent it to asus and they promised that repairs would take up to 3 days. I checked the link to status update that they sent me, but the status was spelled in Chinese characters. What's the use if the customer does not read Chinese? 2 weeks later, I had heard nothing, so I called them. They told me that the repairs were on hold but they were not sure what the reason was. A few days later I got an email from repair shop saying that the warranty does not cover "physical damage" even if it is a factory defect and I have to pay close to $200 to have LCD screen replaced. Of course my warranty was voided at this point. They shipped the screen back but forgot to include specialized power cord that came with the screen. Now repair shop ignored my emails asking to return the power cord.
What a joke! This customer support is unacceptable!
