Pros: Nice package
Cons: Had this for a month and then the unit became intermittent, and then wouldn't charge my Thinkpad at all (the light on unit says its connected but the laptop won't charge the battery - I suspect its putting out too low a voltage or not enough current). Went to Innergie site to contact them and sent them an inquiry, but got no response (its been well over a week since I sent inquiry). I would avoid this product - get one with better quality that will last, from a company that responds to customers.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: Mediasonic HomeWorX HW150PVR ATSC HD converter box with recording, HDMI output
Pros: Small, low cost, PVR capability.
Cons: This box will not work with any "clear" channels broadcast over a cable, which is what I bought it for. Works with antenna input only (ATSC). Does NOT have a QAM tuner to receive cable signals that a normal TV would. Don't buy this if you plan to attach it to your cable TV system.
Other Thoughts: Since virtually any TV you would buy today has both OTA and clear signal cable capability, I can only surmise this box uses a really old digital tuner chip. I needed to view in-the-clear channels off my cable system, which it couldn't, so I returned the unit (too far away from broadcast stations to use antenna).READ FULL REVIEW
Pros: Physical condition is good. No big scratches or paint missing. Runs well (but see below). Dell quality product.
Cons: Comes loaded with fresh OS from MSFT (labeled Windows 7 Pro for Refurbished PCs), but not specifically a Dell build. Has Win7 32 Bit installed, not 64bit as advertised. Need to download Dell drivers and software from web site. Runs out of the box, but may not have all the bells and whistles without the added drivers. Also - buyer beware. The DVD installed is READ ONLY (I thought they did away with them years ago), so no burning CDs or DVDs with this machine. Finally, this is not a wide screen model, but a standard "square" screen of old (not apparent from the specs but the picture does show it). I haven't tried the battery yet to see how long it lasts, and older machines often have weak batteries from continued charge/discharge, but I was aware of that risk.
Other Thoughts: The machine does run and Windows did load on it, and no doubt it will run well as Dell makes a good machine. But buyers should be aware of the "fine print" not apparent in the listing. And if you need Win 64, look elsewhere (it does come with a Win 7 Pro 64 DVD, but once you install the default 32 bit and key in the license, upgrade is an issue). Had I known some of the limitations, I would have chosen another machine. But since this is a refurb, Newegg will not take it back.READ FULL REVIEW
