Comfort Padding

For comfort and support, high density foam is used for the padding of the Racing Series chairs. An open-cell structure helps keep the chair cool and prevents heat build-up.

Uniformed Aesthetics

While our competitors are still trying to make better looking plastic side covers, we completely decimated them. With our patent pending mechanical structure, we arranged all necessary parts inside leather cover to provide users a uniformed aesthetics. Was a good chair, until it broke

Pros: - Easy construction. I had watched several videos to see how easy/hard the various "gaming" computer chairs were to construct. Most used similar parts, but I will admit the Vertagear P-Line PL600 (Rev. 2) had a slight difference. The internal was mentioned as a hard, or bad, part of the construction. This was honestly the easy part for me. The back fit easily on the two supports, and the bolts threaded first try. Maybe the unboxing/construction reviews helped me understand the mostly picture based manual directions?

- Good quality materials, and well manufactured. Reviews were all over on the materials, and how parts were constructed. I was mostly worried about the PVC leather. I had owned a real leather executive chair, and a bonded leather executive chair. The real leather lasted 7 years until the seams ripped open from wear and tear. The bonded leather last less due to the plastic leather peeling from the micro cloth base. I feared the PVC leather for this peeling. I admit now that I would not know that the Vertagear P-Line PL6000 (Rev. 2) is made of PVC leather. It looks, and feels, like leather. The smell does give it away, but after a day that had worn off. The metal frame is sturdy, and the foam is firm. Still the chair is very comfortable just like a car bucket seat. Office chairs are more soft, but I admit that was not always good for me. This chair has me sitting straight more often, and the extra pillows position well for me. The metal tilt/rocker unit is rugged, and sits on the gas piston free moving. The aluminum base is well made, and supports the gas piston base well. The Penta RS1 casters are big, and roll very well. I only see roller blade style casters maybe offering a better experience.

- Lots of configuration/options. This chair can be tilted, reclined, and slightly tweaked more then my previous executive chairs. These options have allowed me to overcome a few differences in the design versus my previous executive chairs. I have not tried the full recline, but I have had a few naps with the back at about a 45 angle.

- General Appearance. I do not make videos, host LAN parties, or show off my gaming gear. Still I do like to enjoy the appearance of what I use often. I had seen a few chairs that had bright colors, designs, or just flashy features. I am more of a minimalist. I do like things that have a good quality look, or a well designed function/feature. Still I prefer more dull colors such as black, grey, slate, or dull blue. Vertagear offers this with the colors, and how the part are designed. The controls do not stick out, and are easy to reach. The material looks good, and the colors are pleasing to the eye. I honestly had to think a bit about the two tone options versus my normal all black look.

- Packaging/Tools. Maybe an odd Pro, but I was happy with the box, packing material, and high quality t-handle hex tool. The box was a bit beat up, but nothing inside was damaged. The outer box did well. Inside was sheets of foam padding, and protective bags. Again these protected the parts, and may be reused later. And the t-handle hex tool. Awesome is may best description. I have seen tools like it sell for $8 plus, and never has a company offered one for a single use project. It now sits in my tool box, but I admit I may never use it beyond the tightening of the chair's bolts. Still I have to respect the quality included with the purchase.

Cons: (UPDATE)
I have joined the group of owners who have had this chair bend/break due to not supporting the listed weight allowance of 440lb. I am 5ft 11in, and weigh 280lbs. The metal frame in the rear part of the seat bent downwards an inch, and the left side reclining arm back support stopped working properly. So when leaning back in the seat I would feel the reclining arm slipping, and the metal frame would start bending. The lean to the left got so bad I finally replaced the chair. I have not had a response to my e-mail for support answered. So I am editing this review. Seems the only recourse I have is to help inform others that this chair is not as advertised, and not a good purchase.

- The arm rests. I am not happy with them. This is my first time with this style of arm rest. They are a bit flimsy, but it is plastic with metal posts. Plastic in my experience tends to have more give, but that is not always bad. I can see if they were all metal my elbows, and arms, being bruised/sore from hitting them. That is where the ability to move them in 3D/4D helps. I can move them back, and down so my arms do not hit them. If I do need them it only take a few movements to have them back in reach. They do not hit my desk when lowered, or extended up. The only negative is that they wobble when in contact with my arms. Personal opinion more then bad design, and I will being looking for replacement options. Or I may remove them if I decide they are really not worth having on the chair.

- The lowest height is still some what high. I had seen the claims that this chair sits higher them standard office chairs. I am just shy of 6 foot tall. I was more worried about the weight limits then the height. Chairs that support 250 pounds and above all seem to sit higher. So my feet touch, but slightly glide. I do not notice numbness in my legs, and with some tilting/reclining I have a "sweet spot" that works for me to use the keyboard/mouse. I may look into a platform to raise the monitor up some, and maybe the keyboard/mouse. But for now I am making due. It is more a transition to a different design, but still I was used to being lower to the floor.

- The tilt/rise/recline controls. The tilt/rise/recline controls take some learning. So I will admit my old chairs were one simple lever. Vertagear P-Line PL6000 as three controls on two levers. I had my chair locked in a odd tilted/reclined position that I swore was due to my breaking something. It was user error, and a lack of understanding how the releases work. The tilt levels are great, but it take a bit of effort to unlock it if you do not fully lock on one of the presets. The recline also takes a bit of effort to work with out being smacked in the back/head. It is a learning curve that may deter some. The part I dislike most is the spring tension. I can not tell if it is tight, and fear cranking the handle much in fear it make snap off. I will not hinder me since I have the tilt lock to a preset angle, and rather use the recline then rock the tilt.

- The price point. This chair at full price is over priced. I bought on sale, and that was even a bit much. The better options/features compared to similar chairs, and how they handled repair/replacements for defective product made the final purchase a value. I had some local options that were $50 to $100 less, but they were office chairs with plastic frames, and cheap plastic bonded material. I am happy with the Vertagear P-Line PL6000. I believe this product will last 5 plus years, and may lower my discomfort that office chairs caused when sitting for extended periods. So hopefully Vertagear can lower the pricepoint, or improve the quality more from this product to warrant the regular price.

Other Thoughts: (Update)
While the chair was undamaged the below information was correct. Afterward I would not suggest this chair. It does not support 440lbs. Lack of communication from customer support. Having to replace the chair with a different brand that was now lower cost, but does support over 290lbs. I hope Vertagear can correct the problems, but I no longer wish to waste my time waiting.

So to answer the suggested questions....

- I would, and am, recommending this product. It is an quality product that I can say exceeded my expectations. I sat in office chairs in a few stores, and none were like this Vertagear P-Line PL6000. I live in a rural area, and retailers for computer/gaming products are few. Buying this product sight unseen, and with no way to compare end more positive then I expected.

- The best part for me is the comfort. I tend to come home tired, and use my computer for entertainment, gaming, and some "work". My old chairs were a place to sit. I have fallen asleep five times while sitting in the Vertagear P-Line PL6000. Quality sleep. I feel refreshed, and a bit confused. Confused since I do not recall falling asleep. But the result feels good, so I do no regret. I am considering a full recline nap just to see if I feel better then sleeping in my bed. Not what I bought the chair for, but if it works why not right?

- The worst part I would change is the arm rests. It is the worst part, but I do not dislike them. I would like them better if they were like my previous chairs. They should just be right there where my arms need some support, and not require being moved to where I need them. I will admit static arm rests did annoy me until I got used to where they were placed. Odd that moveable arm rests are annoying to me. They just wobble, click out of place when hit/grabbed, and do not quite adjust to where I always need. I am just take them off, but I rather not take parts off. They are part of the chair, and I rather use them. I just need to give them some more time, but it is hard to break habits I have from the old chair.

So just to recap....

I needed a chair for my computer area. I game, watch tv/movies, and do some work there. Previous chairs did okay, but were not great. I had seen reviews on "gaming" chairs that offered some better options over office chairs. Also being a tall husky guy I knew I needed a chair that was more metal then plastic frame construction. After testing a few office chairs locally I did some research on Newegg. The many gaming chairs soon were focused down to a few with options, features, and value that I liked. I compared with the local vendor office chairs, and saw only a $50 difference. Vertagear had one feature that no other chair had. The internal frame for the recline support bars. I just did not like the exposed metal with cheap plastic snap on covers. A chair that covers those with the outer frame was a good look, and I think a better functioning design. After a bit more research I saw the value in the offered price point. I was also happy to see Vertagear had redesigned the product after finding problems, and had sent free replacements to customers to correct these problems. I did worry a bit about buying from a Marketplace vendor, but Newegg policies changed my opinion. The product processed in a day, and only took 6 of the 7+ days to ship via UPS Ground. Easy to build, and I am happy with the product. Minor complaints, and those are mostly my personal quirks. So I would suggest this product, and Vertagear in general. Also thanks to Newegg for again helping a rural gamer find good gaming gear.

Don't buy this. Unless you're under 220 IBS

Pros: The chair is quite comfy and having the position lock on the chair is great as well.
The chair looks nice.

Cons: After about 10 months the chair's mechanism failed.
I have been informed from a rep that the chairs are not designed to support 440 ibs (even though it says it on the specs)
the company has poor quality control and you will receive bad chairs that you will eventually need to deal with their poor customer support and have to wait a week before anything is done on them.
when I ordered this chair one of the arm rest came damaged. the threading on the chair started to show wear over 3 months of sitting.
There are too many issues with this to say I cannot recommend this to anyone. It should be sold for about 200 or less and not 400+ dollars for it.

Not So good

Pros: Comfortable

Cons: Poor Quality - I bought this chair 11/21/2017 after a few months of use one of the casters broke so I had to buy replacements, last night as I was leaning back the screws that are in the metal base broke off. I am a bit on the big size at around 240 lbs but the chair is supposed to support 440 lbs. Going to see what the warranty is but am prob out of luck.

Don’t buy this chair or anything similar to it. designed by sadistic people.

Pros: Overridden by cons

Cons: You’d think a chair that is a direct hazard to your health and well being would be cheaper than this. It will cause you posture issues. It will rip with it’s thin and weak material and seams. Do not fund this company. Please invest in a chair worth sitting in.

Other Thoughts: I’m 5’8 and 161lbs for reference. I’ve owned this chair for close to a year. A seam ripped at the thigh area on week 2. Right now it is ripped in 3 separate spots with normal use. The arm rests are hard enough to damage your elbows with basic use. Mechanisms in arm rests aren’t symmetrical. The padding is very hard, but also incredibly thin. It’s so bad that you can feel the metal frame underneath you which can cut off circulation. The backrest is as straight as a plank, far from suitable for the human spine. There is actually a lack of a headrest, it’s just air and the weak cover material. The worst thing might be the shoulder area. It literally forces your shoulder forward causing winged shoulder blades combined with all the other anti-ergonomics of this chair. There’s more issues but I digress. Putting all the facts together leads me to believe the makers seek to cause damage to the owners body.

Pros: Easy to assemble

Cons: One of the casters broke within 6 months of owning it. My husband weighs 230. Is an okay chair, but I don't think it is worth the price they ask for it. I emailed them about the wheel and no response, so buyer beware.

Poor seat covering material! DO NOT BUY!

Pros: Well, pretty firm foam and comfortable but fake leather material is extremely cheap!

Cons: Seat material separating from seams after 1.5 months!

Other Thoughts: Definitely would not recommend that anyone buy when seat material starts to fall apart after less than two months of light use.

Terrible casters. Cheap quality, poor service

Pros: Comfortable. Lumbar pads are appreciated.

Cons: The wheels are incredibly cheap quality. Within 8 hours of sitting on the chair, two of them completely disintegrated. I contacted support and asked them for better quality replacements. I was eventually sent 3 replacements of the same kind.

I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but a couple weeks later, a 3rd completely disintegrated.

Granted, I am a husky guy (360 lbs) but the description clearly says this chair is rated at 440 lbs, so that is a complete fabrication.

I will be ordering high quality casters and requesting the merchant to refund me that amount.
