Good case, bad parts

Comments: We bought this for a custom (obviously) project that would require fans to keep the MOBO and multiple video cards cool. The case cover did get to us broken originally but NewEgg RMA'ed it and we had no issues out of the next one.

Beware Hemophiliacs

Pros: Everything is specifications is true, it's an amazing case in almost every way

Cons: You will bleed, I made it all the way to putting in my hdd's but then sliced my cuticles.

Other Thoughts: possibly include a pair of leather gloves

Good case, bad longevity

Pros: It had a lot of interior room and expansion was easy.

Cons: The front plastic grills were difficult to keep seated and all but 1 of the fans stopped working within 1 year.

Decent product; Poor support

Pros: The overall robustness of the steel frame and case are extraordinary. You can pick up the case with one hand by grabbing onto the steel bar that runs just above the motherboard mount; while I don't recommend this, it's great if you are dusting out your computer and need to move your case in one arm and tools in the other.

Airflow was my main priority in purchasing this case and the XClio 1000 definitely provides that, leaving room for the addition of MORE fans if you so desire. My case has never exceeded unecessary temperatures, which is a godsend, since I leave my computer on nearly 24/7 and I'm a hardcore gamer, spending between 1 and 10 hours per day pushing the limits of my internal components. The ability to change the color and speed of the side fans from the top fans from each of the front fans is a great feature.

Being able to (nearly) hot-swap hard drives is nice and would make this a great server-style case.

The tool-less thumb screws for most of the case help a lot.

Cons: While the XClio 1000 is strong and physically durable, steel is HEAVY - 52 pounds heavy. This is a huge drawback if you plan on setting this case up on a desk or computer storage area. Because of this factor, I had to brace my desk with a 2x4 pylon. Next to the weight issue, the dimensions make moving the case difficult. I'm a big person and the case just feels awkward to carry and is hard to fit in the passenger seat(s) of an '08 Cobalt. This case was clearly not designed for LANs.

8 180mm fans at full speed is loud. If you like a quiet and cool computer using fans and not water, this is not the case for you. Within 6 months, the foreward most top fan started making a tapping noise from hitting the plastic grill and still continues to this day, 1.5 years later, except now, the fan appears to be having mechanical problems and cannot maintain a constant speed or start. Some of this may stem from the molex connector being singed from all of the power required for the 8 180mm fans.

Other Thoughts: While I would recommend this case for others for the features it provides (what can I say, I like lit components, like my Saitek Cyborg), I do not feel that this is entirely deserving of the steep $269.99 (12/18/2008) pricetag, especially considering the lack of quality that some of the fans and wiring have provided.

When my case arrived, the black metal grills between the front fans and the HDD bays were badly warped, causing them to fall out until bent to a flatter shape.

Still not 100% sure why the molex cable for the 8 180mm fans has been singed and colored a yellow-brown, except for the amount of electricity running through this connection. This cable is wired to the fan controller, so it was installed by XClio.

XClio Support is some of the worst. After emailing support@xclio.com several times within the 1-year warranty about my fan issues, I heard nothing. XClio's website looks nice, like their products, but support needs serious improvement. I would not purchase again.

Terrible Case

Pros: Sorry it is a terrible case I am throwing it away and getting a new one

Cons: Fans stopped working, they a re not of a standard size so it has been impossible to get repalcements.

The USB ports on the back do not recognize my mouse or printer, I have to use the ones on the front but there are only two!!!!

Also no handles, very akward to carry

Other Thoughts: Don't wate your money on this case

Great Case, Horrible Fans

Pros: I love the space this case offers, I have had no problems finding room for everything. I was even able to install a water cooling system with plenty of room left over. The light display options are really nice too.

Cons: This case is heavy! Also, the fans started to die within 3 months. After 6 months only half of the fans were operational, and after a year only 2 remain operating.

Other Thoughts: I am currently looking in to alternative solutions for cooling as the cost to replace fans at about $30 a pop would cost well over $200 from Xclio. Might just buy another case, and mod this one.....

Nice

Pros: Tons of features, plenty of room (this is a massive case). All the case cables are long. Excellent hard drive bays and cooling.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is the best case I have ever purchased. For reference, I have bought around ten different types of cases from various places, ranging from mid to full towers (all atx).

Xclio 1000

Pros: Very Large!!! Lots of Ewwws and Awwwws, great cooling solution, pretty lights, you could probably fit any GPU in the case, lots of room for HDDs or optical drives, and great fan speeds.

Does exactly what i Wanted it to do

Cons: I got this (December 25 2009). Alot of people were saying the fans will die within 6 months, I have had this for pretty much 3 months and have had only 1 fan kinda die, it stopped running, got really hot (While the switch was off) but then i turned it on and change the fan speed and now it works fine. One other con, when I was hooking up all the components there was rubber straps on the PSU rails which would not let me screw in my PSU but I removed them and it fit.

Other Thoughts: I highly recommend powerful 3rd party fans for the Back of the case for overclockers.
