Just like the Vostok spacecraft led the way in manned space exploration, the Vostok case from Enermax leads the computer world into a new era of case design. The matte black case has a minimalist feel with a glossy black front panel for a touch of elegance. The top two 5.25” drive bays have drop down panels for your optical drives so don’t have to worry about matching the color and the case will maintain its uniform look.

Besides the two optical drive ports there are two more external 5.25” drive bays plus two external 3.5” external bays. There are also four internal 3.5” bays so you can set up a massive storage array. To make things easier, all the drive bays are tool-less for fast but secure installation. Installing your video card and other expansion cards is made easier by a clever system that has a locking bracket that covers the top of all the slots and locks all the cards in place but can be removed with a single screw so you can do upgrades.

Keeping your system cool is important and the Vostok has you covered. There are two side vents, one over the expansion slots and a ducted vent over the CPU so the heatsink gets a dedicated cool air supply. The rear 120mm fan clips into place, so you can set up your system without it getting in the way.

2-2.5 Years

Pros: Light-weight case, multiple 120mm fans (front/rear), side vent for direct air supply to processors. I bought two cases; one used for office and one as family room MediaCenter (Blu-ray/DVD, Netflix, Skype, and general use). Both boxes look good for each application.

Cons: Like others have stated, the case is a bit flimsy; however, once populated w/devices you can move around w/no problems. Just take care with side panels when removed.

Bought two cases and lost Power Supplies (PS) in both cases after a little over 1.5 years of use. Computers did go into standby mode, which should have extended the life; however, I've now replaced each PS with new "green" PS's that cost more than the case that houses them.

Other Thoughts: Draw on power supplies didn't exceed the 400w and the air supply appears to been adequate. Office PC contained three fans (RearCase (var/120mm)/Procs/PS). MediaCenter PC contained four fans (Front & RearCase (var/120mm)/Procs/PS) due to multiple other media device in close proximity producing warmer air on the side vent intake.

If your on a tight buget - then this is a good buy. Simply upgrade the power supply later. If you have a little extra to spend - try finding a case with a better and/or "green" power supply.

Case uses blue led's. The access light on the front is a little bright and can be distracting (MediaCenter), if facing someone. I'm not really sure why the industry has gone the way of blue led's. It's proven that the blue spectrum doesn't focus on the back of the eye; therefore, the blue light appears to be fuzzy. This is not really a concern, which is why I added it to other thoughts.

Clean case

Pros: Nice shiny black front plate. The blue power indication around the button is a nice touch. The blue HD light is also a nice touch. The front USB and audio ports are easy to get to and feel solid when connecting things.

Comes with a quiet 120mm fan, the PS also has a 120mm fan. Both of the fans are quiet.

All components installed easily and there is plenty of room to work inside it.

Cons: Like others have said the sides are a bit flimsy, so a tad thicker sheet metal would have been good.

IMO the Tool-Free system is not impressive. Even when locked the drives would move a bit. So I used screws to secure the drives instead.

Other Thoughts: Proc: AMD Phenom II X3 710 oc'd at 216MHz FSB to put it running at 2.8GHz
MoBo: MSI 790GX-G65
RAM: OCZ Special Ops DDR3 1600 4GB
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA
DVD Drive: LG DVD 22x +/- R SATA
OS: Vista Home Premium 32bit

Good lowbudget case

Pros: If your looking for a cheap case with a PSU this is a nice choice. This PSU and case is part of my latest AM3 DDR3 build and it has enough power to run a dvd-rw, 500GB hard drive the board processor and memory, and 2 x 120mm cooling fans. Oh and a Radeon 4650 no sweat. It is well build for a budget case. i have gotten a lot of cases from new egg and of the more cost efficent ones this is the best i have seen.

Cons: the PSU is 400 watts a 500 watt one would make this a steal.

Other Thoughts: Very easy to connect the front usb and sound dongles and the front header was a breeze nice labeling. I only gave it 4 eggs because of the 400 watt psu if it had a 500 watt it would have gotten 5 eggs hands down.

Almost amazing

Pros: Looks great, well designed interior, big fan, mostly tool free. Despite what follows I actually love case (you are hardest on the ones you love).

Cons: They cheaped out. Toolfree mounts for only 2 of 4, 5 1/4 ext bays, 1 of 2, 3 1/2 ext bays and 1 of 4, 3 1/2 int bays.

Power supply has inadequate connectivity. Only 3 Molex, one sata and one floppy connector which is not long enough to reach the floppy slot. They need as a minimum another whip with two molex and a floppy and need to add second sata to sata whip (leaving molex).

Note that with any advanced video card you will need an adapter for molex to 4, 6 or 8 pin power connecor, there is none on power supply.

They should charge five dollars more and fix the tool free mounts and the power supply.

Since power supply barely adequate for a mini case, I ended up having to replace with a 500W Seasonic (love that M series).

Other Thoughts: Fan installation directions are inadequate, make sure label on fan is facing wall of case not interior (little arrow etched in plastic on side of fan should point to outside of case).

To install the I/O shield you need to remove the fan mount so do not install fan first, that is why they did not.

A little flimsy, but...

Pros: Very sleek and sexy case. I bought this case to replace the Ark WN-26B, which had very poorly designed drive covers that kept jamming my CD drive. Has room for up to 120mm fan in front and back. Despite the small size, it can hold a LOT of drives!! Also, both side panels are removable.

Cons: - Yes, the .5mm steel is a bit flimsy. It would be nice to see this with 1.0mm, but as others have said, once you install all of the components, things become a bit more rigid.
- A lot of cases now only allow you to screw in optical drives and whatnot from one side, with those little locking pin things on the other side. This case doesn't let you screw drives in on both sides.
- Also, ans this is a minor thing, but labels on the USB and audio connectors would be nice, too.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a nice case! Just remember that you might get one with a dent here or there simply from the ravages of shipping. As long as you don't constantly move your case around (i.e. LAN parties), it will last a LONG time.

It's not Enermax quality

Pros: Isn't too much bling-bling. It's "good", but not great.

Cons: Thin metal means the case is easily bent or damaged. It's downright flimsy. No speaker, so no BIOS beep codes to help you troubleshoot. No 8-pin 12V power connector. The slot cover area was designed very poorly -- easily destroyed by poor construction.

Other Thoughts: This thing doesn't come with an Enermax power supply. I suspect it's made by another company and re-branded. I'll live with it, but it's a little on the cheap side for the money. Take away the Emermax brand and it's worth about $20 less.

Great Case To Build With But....

Pros: This is my first build with this case. This case was a builder's dream. Very well planned out, plenty of room to work even with an ATX Motherboard or a large Power Supply. Room to the inside of the drive bays allow efficient routing of cables. Loved the design of the screwless drive locks. Plenty of drive bays. Great price for a case with outstanding features and a 400W PS.

Cons: I pulled it out of the box and was scared at first. A little on the flimsy side, slightly deformed side panels. The whole back of the case was very flimsy, including where the power supply was mounted but once components were in place and tightened down it became a little more bearable. Wish the power supply had a 8 pin 12V connector.

Other Thoughts: Definately worth the money. Most customers can care less about cases except that they're "pretty." The pluses far outweigh the minuses.

The Best Case

Pros: This is the best case design I have ever seen or worked with. I have used Enermax cases before, but now can conpare to this one. I have a Intel G33FBC motherboard, C2D 4300, 2GB Kinston DDR2 800 ram, Asus 18X SATA DVD burner, Asus DVD/CD Rom and a Card Reader from Roswell in this case with no extra fans in the frount or sides. my CPU stays 30-33 idol and under stress to include the software stress bundle Intel gives you in their software package is only reaching 38-40. That is truely amasing!!!. I love this case and will build many more systems with this case. Good job once again NewEgg for getting my stuff to me on time and not broken. To anyone who reads my commits, BUY THIS CASE NOW!!!!

Cons: NONE AT ALL!!!!

Other Thoughts: I know what I am talking about when I say items I tried works to prefection. I have been building computer systems for over 6 years and running. I am also an IT specialist at my job so believe me when I say this is a knock out case...
