Still going strong...since 20010

Pros: -Extremely reliable...workhorse for my main rig
-Allowed multiple upgrades including Quad Q9550 Yorkfield Quad-Core 2.83, gtx 350, ram and several os updates (win xp, 7,8) and hd swapouts
-Outlived most other parts of system - fans, battery in ups, 1 hd failure,

Cons: - Bootup support not the greatest. It never reliably did USB flash boot. Accepts USB CD and network. Allows for Windows Server Essentials 2012 network reload
- one of the SATA ports was flaky at one point and wouldn't work consistently with a drive...but it worked with a newer drive I put in a few months ago.

Other Thoughts: Wanted to update processor for my main rig, only to realize that my last 2 MB updates were for other systems in the house. Not bad for a $90 board! I think this is 3-4th gigabyte board.
I don't do gaming on it anymore, but I use it heavily. Extremely reliable even though for 1/2 of ownership I haven't gotten to replace the battery in ups.

Pros: Still running well after after buying it six years ago. It went through 1 year of disuse after my macbook pro became my main computer, but when I needed it again, it powered up with no problems.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte knows how make their stuff. This is my second motherboard with them, and when I upgrade to socket lga 1150 I'm definitely going to go with them.

My first PC build.

Pros: I have to hand it to Gigabyte, they sure know how to built them.

As a preface, my tech level was super low when I put this PC together, so I kind of 'winged it'. I know, it's idiotic on my part, but I was just a kid.

I got this part in 2008. The unit has lasted me until now, 2014, even after it's been in three different cases, been mounted without standoffs, subjected to poor ventilation, accidentally poked and repoked with a sharp screwdrivers, has seen three video cards, two power supplies and I think dropped it once or twice when I was switching it into another case.

And the blasted thing still works. My gosh. My kudos to the engineers of Gigabyte.

In the end, I rebuilt a new computer using this motherboard and my trusty E8400 to sell it to my friend. Just recently too; as of June 2014.

Still working.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm now biased towards Gigabyte products since my purchase of this board in 2008.

Best motherboard I ever had!

Pros: Very dependable!! Has lasted over 5 years with no problems!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Had built a computer with an Intel motherboard back in 2007. That motherboard failed within a year. Purchased this motherboard in 2008 and has been running great ever since! Have used a Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz processor in it with 4GB DDR2 SDRAM, 3 SATA drives, 1 SATA DVDRW and 1 EIDE DVDRW and 256MB Video Card and has been running great!! One main reason why it's lasted so long is probably because I have it in an Antec 900 Case with about 6 cooling fans in it, along with a Rosewill 550W power supply.

I am currently upgrading the processor to a Core 2 Quad 2.5GHz Intel processor, and yesterday just put in new 8GB DDR2 SDRAM (maxed out). I'm keeping this motherboard until it quits!!!

I have read other reviews on more recent Gigabyte motherboards, and I'm not quite sure if I will purchase another Gigabyte motherboard in the future, as a lot of them nowadays seem to go dead within a year. We will see, though!

Too bad they don't make this motherboard anymore, or I wish they did with upgraded SATA 6.0GB/sec hookups on it, and possibly upgraded memory slots.

Good motherbaord

Pros: Installed this in July 2008, been running it almost daily since then (powered on and off daily as well). Plenty of SATA ports, and RAM slots (which I still have not filled). The extra IDE port was also a plus for my older drive. Used mainly for gaming (plays BattleField 3 pretty good), surfing the web, compiling source code, composing music, graphics design.

Cons: The PCI express slot is the main bottleneck on this board. I wish I had bought one with a faster slot for my graphics card. Having to upgrade now based on this weakest link, but 3.5 years is a pretty long lifetime, which is why I gave this board 5/5 eggs.

Other Thoughts: I installed this almost 4 years ago, and it has yet to disappoint. Might be because I bought a really nice components for it: Well ventilated Antec case, Power Supply (Antec 550W), RAM (CORSAIR DOMINATOR 2x2GB), CPU (Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz)

Unhappy with Gigabyte

Pros: This was a great motherboard for about 2 years 9 months.

Cons: This was my son's motherboard and he was experiencing random but often BSD issues. Through tedious selective component diagnosis, the motherboard was the culprit. he was graduating high school and was preparing for college so we bought him the components so he could build another great computer so he could use in his freshman year in an out of state college for computer science. I recently realized that this motherboard was under warranty but through the busy schedule we have, I lapsed on the time frame and missed the deadline by several weeks. BUT this problem was occurring DURING the warranty period so I contacted Gigabyte and it took them almost 1 week to reply with just a simple sentence"If you think this is a warranty matter, submit an RMA". They new what they were doing! I submitted an RMA and they basically immediately declined for out of warranty! No consideration of the letter I composed! 1 egg rating because I can't select zero!

Other Thoughts: Well I will NEVER by another Gigabyte product and I will spread this to all who ask for my advise. I am in the customer service business and not everything is written in black and white. Considerations should be taken. I would not waste my time making up a story. My time is worth more than this but now I am UPSET at the shotgun rejection I received! Good bye Gigabyte as I will NEVER by another one of your products!

Impressive

Pros: Reliability.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: So it's 2011. If you're reading this it must be out of boredom.

I'm writing this review because i just did a systeminfo @ the command prompt of our 03 server.

System Up Time: 627 Days, 21 Hours, 16 Minutes, 53 Seconds

System Model: EP35-DS3L
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

CPU: E8400 / Core2Duo

So yeah it's stable. BTW the uptime would be longer if it weren't for a cruddy Antec PSU this machine was originally built with.
