XXL Aluminum Alloy Heatsink
X370 Taichi

Extra large aluminum alloy heat sinks that effectively take away heat from the MOSFET and chipset so that your whole system may perform more stable.

Premium 60A Power Choke
X370 Taichi

Compared to traditional chokes, ASRock's premium 60A power chokes effectively make the saturation current up to three times better, thus providing enhanced and improved Vcore voltage to the motherboard.

Premium Memory Alloy Choke
X370 Taichi

Specifically designed for memory power delivery, these new alloy chokes feature a highly magnetic and heat resistant design, thus delivering more stable and reliable power to the motherboard and memory modules.

Dual-Stack MOSFET (DSM)
X370 Taichi

Dual-Stack MOSFET (DSM) is another innovative MOSFETs design by ASRock. The silicon die area is increased by stacking two dies into one MOSFET. The larger the die area, the lower Rds(on). Compared to traditional discrete MOSFET, DSM with larger die area provides extreme lower Rds(on) 1.2 mO, so the power supply for the CPU Vcore is more efficient.

Solid Board

Pros: - Great features
- Great cooling

No longer an Asus user!

Pros: Very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Very easy to build with and plenty of fan headers with the PWM hub. The white on the motherboard looks great with LED lighting inside of your case.
The BIOS might take a little getting use to as their are so many options but most of the essentials are pretty straight forward.
Overclocking it is about as easy as you can get and it was very stable with Ryzen X1700 at 4.2 Ghz (probably could have gone higher but was more than enough for what I needed).

Cons: It was a little difficult finding out how to turn on the Nvme Ultimate drive through the BIOS but it is in there. Had to look on youtube.com to find out though.
That's really the only fault I could find (documentation for the Nvme feature).

Other Thoughts: As a life long Asus builder of easily over 25 computers, I can say my days with Asus as of right now are over. Not bashing Asus per say but their board ads seem to make alot of promises that don't always seem to live up to expectations. This was my first ASRock build having worked on many older ASROCK mobos in the 2006-2011 era and the quality has VASTLY improved. The matte black finish is also extremely nice and durable.
Everything from the chokes on are absolutely top quality! While it may not carry the luster and flash of the ROG series of Asus it does deliver on the overclocking and fine tuning capabilities and far surpassed my expectations.
I've seen a few reviews with complaints on the PWM hub but the one I built for a customer had no trouble whatsoever and has been running very steady for over 3 months now without so much as a glitch.
Layout of the board is great to work with providing you plenty of room. I'm actually going to be getting another one for a relatives build for this coming Christmas.

**NOTE: Have to ammend this review.

Purchased another of the same mobo for my son's Christmas gift but after building the system and turning it on, no video despite 2 different GPU cards, won't even show video, not POSTing. Computer shuts down after 30 seconds continuously. Checked wiring, PSU, GPU, RAM and cooling and reseated the CPU. Now getting the run around from ASRock to contact my "dealer" despite using their own recommended way of contacting tech support twice now!

Pros: easy to set up. ran great when it did

Cons: about 1/4 the time, when waking from sleep mode the monitor would not turn on, had to restart computer then everything was fine. Now after 3 months I dont have video signal and get error codes (98) - tried hardware on different board and all was fine.

Bad sata support and software

Pros: - Excellent VRM's
- Overclocking is a breeze
- Good hardware Spec

Cons: - Bad software updates
- Horrible latency audio drivers
- Hard drives are under performing due to bad sata drivers and M.2

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't recommend to a friend or colleague as a first build.
Lost of unnecessary kinks with the motherboard such as Asrock RGB
Would be better to have third party software for RGB compatibilities such as corsair link
Poor Customer support at Asrock manufacture as well so again, its better to go with another motherboard.

Solid

Pros: Incredible 12+4 Power phase VRMs. The materials used to build these are top quality and they hold up very well. An AMD Ryzen 5 1600x@4.2Ghz couldnt push the VRMs over 60c after hours of stress testing.
Simple and easy to use BIOS with a lot of features. Also has a direct download option to update the BIOS from the BIOS itself.
RAM support is solid. 3200Mhz out of the box with XMP and G.Skill FlareX RAM kit(though how much of this can be attributed to the Taichi vs the RAM kit, I dont know).
Very nice audio quality, though this may only seem that way because my previous build did not have the best audio quality.
LED display that will show errors if the machine wont POST or otherwise has a problem; much more efficient than the whole beeping thing.
Looks neat!

Cons: Fairly expensive when I purchased it(july/august 2017), though arguably worth the price at least in my opinion.
This may be an error with my configuration or phone, but the WiFi on here has caused some problem with my smartphone. Constant disconnections and slow speeds down/upload speeds.

Other Thoughts: Besies the WiFi issues ive had, couldnt be happier with this product and would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to spend a bit more for quality parts. Ill definitely be picking up another Taichi motherboard in my future builds.

Was I cursed from the beginning..?

Pros: -It looks great with my white and black build.
- Easy to overclock the ram
- Fairly simple setup and fast boot

Cons: -Static issues with onboard audio, I tried to bypass with a two different sound cards and the mobo fried both of them. Not impressed at all.

- Several times i've come into memory issues where I'd have to change where my ram slots are and then take the battery out and back to cycle CMOS. x470 better solve these issues.

Other Thoughts: I want to love this motherboard / company. Send some help this way ASrock

Great Performance and Somewhat Easy Overclocking

Pros: - Bios was easy to navigate
- Overclocking once figured out was simple enough
- Unicorn Puke can be left off (RGB for the layman)
- Bios updates were simple enough
- Sturdy construction

Cons: - The bios weren't designed for 5 year-olds so a little poking around was necessary
- Didn't boot straight into the bios when no boot drive was detected
- Letters on PCB were difficult to read (non-issue as manual is provided and is a free download from website)

Other Thoughts: This was the first build I'd worked on in about 6 years. I am no noob at pc building however. I have built my fair share of rigs. This one was to be my best: overclocking everything, liquid cooling, and maybe eventually SLI. I probably will not do the SLI unless the 1080 TIs keep dropping. ASRock had several updates in which certain ones had to be installed before later versions. Fortunately I only had to deal with a single one of these, and thankfully it was marked on their website that this was required.

The one caveat to the overclocking was the issue of where to do it in the bios. The main heading was quite obvious, but the individual settings did have odd names. Of course things become quite clear once again with even the slightest bit of looking into it, and I only mean that if you click on the selections they become clear as to their purpose. The cpu overclocked pretty easy as you change the core speed setting (3600 changed to 3700 or 3636 and so on). The memory was simple enough though it took a little searching to find.

I bought this board back in October of 2017. It is now Sept of 2018. I have had no issues with its operation. Actually it is just about the one part that gave me absolutely no problems. I do wonder why only the M.2 Ultra slot works with SSDs while being the faster slot over the second M.2 slot. NVMEs should go in that slot. This just makes no sense. Of course if there's a new technology concerning ssds that has increased speeds then it wouldn't be an issue...of course I have not heard of such a thing so what the h311 ASRock?

Overall I'd say it's a really good board. You won't have your hand held through the process of anything that you are doing but it will perform just about everything you want to do with it. The wifi is fast enough for gaming as I've got absolutely no delay or speed issues. I've been pleasantly surprised by the benchmarks the rig has been achieving. I'll likely be considering another ASRock board for my next build and if it ever came up I might just recommend one to a friend. Of course, reviews will be considered.
