DirectCU II
ASUS exclusively engineered DirectCU II technology to provide a cooler and quieter thermal solution. DirectCU II utilizes five copper pipes in direct contact with the GPU to quickly dissipate heat to high conductivity aluminum heat sink. Along with two 80mm fans to provide up to six times more airflow than the reference design, ASUS DirectCU II cooling solution can provide up to 20% cooling operations and is up to two times quieter.

Super Alloy Power
The expertly-designed Super Alloy Power and Direct Power technology uses specially formulated alloy for key power delivery components to deliver stable and reliable power to the GPU.

ASUS exclusive Super Alloy Power utilizes specially-formulated alloy inside the power delivery components to provide a more stable and quieter operation compared to reference design. The specially-formulated alloy is highly-magnetic, heat-resistant and anti-corrosive. Super Alloy Power can increase lifespan two and a half times while operating up to 35 degrees cooler. With Super Hybrid Engine to intelligently monitor and control power management, Super Alloy Power graphics cards are able to deliver up to a 15% performance boost.
DirectPower
The introduction of Direct Power technology allows for better flow of electrons through the PCB to ensure lower impedance while reducing PCB temperatures by up to 17%.

Excellent Card Value and Price

Pros: -Excellent heat dissipation
-Runs buttery smooth every 1080P games at ultra ranging form 60fps+ on most modern games.
-Runs on 1440P best in SLI but if using single card for budget, 1080P is the best option.
-Overclocking these all these years with what I felt like I would melt these card when running 1440P high to ultra settings in SLI but ran them like a champ!
-Great price range, budget friendly

Cons: -As first time experience building my own rig in 2013, do these not come with screws to latch on to the rig/case from port side or mine did not come with it? I have left it lose as-is attached to my motherboard and ran my cables while slightly moving when ever switching HDMI/DVI ports, but never had any problems for the past years, just thought it would come with it.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this card since 2013 and running like a champ in SLI. I have been using it for 1080P (mainly 1440P gaming) and it it runs butter smooth with some tweaks in game settings. I run from high to ultra for modern games with the rig setup and I've been very please with the results this has pulled me. At the time I should've have gone with like a 770 in stead of SLI but in the end I was glad as at the time the SLI mode was close to the 780 in comparison and saved a lot of money back then. This card has not given me any problems and would gladly recommend to all who are looking to build a budget PC at high to ultra setting on 1080p for modern gaming. I am currently writing this review after I recently upgraded to a higher tier graphics card and saw no review for it so I felt like it deserved it. It has gained me great respect and loyalty to the ASUS brand and have since been using most ASUS branded PC peripherals. I just ordered my Asus Strix GTX 1080 x2 and will diffidently enjoy the new upgrade knowing that ASUS's warranty and service alone is worth it! I will have to say, most complaints that I have read thus far, I can say that these experiences are more of how the rig was built, what PSU is being used, what the proper voltage, etc is and most of this is ignored as people will think the PSU can handle it but it very well depends on how well you know can build your own rig with appropriate maintenance. You can't go 4k gaming with this card and have high expectations. Problems with graphics card arise when what the term I like to call some gamers is "graphics greed" where just because you have spent this much money on said card and expect 4k/8k caliber graphics and then complain that it does not perform well. That's like comparing a CRT TV to a 4K LED TV where you expect the CRT to be better than current generation of TVs (excluding retrogaming). This card is definitely worth your money for the 1080P experience and incredible FPS if you are smart with how you adjust your video settings by not going crazy as mentioned. Most of gamers will enjoy this card and is perfect for your needs. Now I'm unsure if Newegg still supplies these or not bsed on out-of-stock listed, but buying elsewhere where available (other online retailers/auction sites) you can get it cheaper now.

Great for a Budget, But May Not Last Long

Pros: The card is cheap, and gives a good amount of power. I grabbed some of these in late 2013 and It handled gaming, video recording/editing, and rendering very well. Installation was simple, and the card was not too bulky and left room in my case for a second one. This was one reason why I decided to buy a second card early last year.

Cons: My second card barely lasted me a year before it started causing problems. The computer would restart or bluescreen without warning, and I've confirmed this to be the cards fault by testing temps, voltages, RAM, my storage, etc... I dealt with the issue for a whole year before it started getting really bad a few days ago. The computer would restart 5-6 times a day without warning and id constantly lose my work.

What finally made me realize this was the card's fault was that the crashing and restarting only occurred when I had SLI on. Turning it off fixed my issue, but left me with a broken card and a lack of the $225 I spent on it.

Other Thoughts: Over-all, I would recommend this card. Just be sure to buy a warrenty for it as it may not last you very long. I wish I recoup the $225 I spent on the faulty card but I doubt it as I did not get a warranty. Happy gaming!

Nvidia, the way it's meant to be played!

Pros: Nvidia always been my brand and it'll always be. Never got a defective card with them, drivers are still updated years after, the GeForce Experience software is amazing. If you want a gaming PC, you can never go wrong with Nvidia GPU. And Asus is always been another brand I trust alot and I never been disapointed by their products and customer service.

Cons: Nothing to say, work like a charm for 2 years now and planning to use it for 2 more years before changing my hardwares. As a gamer, I have to update it more often than the real lifetime of the hardwares but I'll definitively be able to give that computer to someone that is not gamer and I'm pretty sure it'll last at least another 2 years. Really, strong brand that can last for years and years. Would be real bad luck if it had to break any time soon.

Other Thoughts: Recommending Nvidia very much. Asus aswell. Good purchase, good price and with the bundle, it was a really nice deal.

Garbage absolute garbage

Pros: When it worked it worked well, was smooth, and had great imagery.

Cons: Video card unexpectedly black screens without warning. In the first month I had numerous black screen issues. Was never able to run games at advertised settings.

Other Thoughts: Save yourself some time and headaches and don't buy this card.

Manufacturer Response:
Dear Kirk,

Thank for your time on posting this review, we are sorry to hear your experience with the ASUS graphics card. Please allow me to assist you. I understand that you are not satisfied with the unit however, please try the steps below to try to fix the issue.

1. Check the compatibility of the GPU to the mothereboard
2. Check or replug the PSU to the GPU
3. Reseat the GPU card into the mothereboard or test the GPU into another mothereboard ; Check the video cable compatibility or use different cable or use other PCIe slot for the GPU
4. Check the mothereboard BIOS, it might be set to Onboard or Integrated VGA only instead of Auto detecting or using the PCI Express x16 slot.
5. Try to use different GPU; if having the same issue with the 2nd GPU, Go to Step 6 and/or 7
6. You may also want to consider flashing the BIOS to the latest version, or even latest Beta version available from the mothereboard site.

If you need further technical assistance or if you want to discuss this matter with me, please email me at customerloyalty@asus.com and put case #N150901685 in the subject line for a reference. I'm here to help you and all others with these issues, as our customer loyalty department dedicated to bringing a resolution to all issues related to our products.

Great Card, Except for one thing

Pros: About a month after I got this card it died. I sent it in for an RMA and I had a new one within two weeks. Besides this, this card is amazing. I'm getting 130fps average on medium in battlefield 4 and 60 on ultra in ARMA 3. I'm running this with an i5 4690k and I haven't over clocked anything yet.

Cons: Besides the first dead one, this. card is amazing.
