NVIDIA's ninth generation series of graphics cards brings cutting edge technology and advanced capabilities together for best-in-class performance. The 9800GTX is a balanced solution for all your graphic needs. It’s Microsoft Vista ready and equipped with a PCI-Express 2.0 interface for the most up-to-date systems. The 9800 supports Quad SLI to really crank your performance by using up to four graphics cards.

The card's core clock has been boosted to run at 700MHz relieving your CPU of pixel crunching duty. Data surges through the 9800's 128 stream processors which are fed by 512MB of 256-bit 2200MHz GDDR3 memory. Support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 2.0 and NVIDIA's PureVideoHD are also built in to render even the most intense environmental effects, heavy shading, multiple light sources, or HD DVD video with brilliant clarity.

Twin dual-linked DVI and 400 MHz RAMDAC lets you display 2560 x 1600 resolution video and graphics on even the largest monitors, or output to other video displays via the S-Video and HDTV connectors for maximum flexibility. The 9800 delivers fluid frame rates and HD video with rock solid performance that will keep you in the thick of the action.

A beast, nuff said.

Pros: A complete beast of a card, for the price this thing is a g-o-d... I'd be willing to pay $500 for the performance out of this thing, my PC no longer lags AT ALL with this and a Q6600! If you want a stable PC for cheap that could still out perform half of the gamer PC's out there, get this with a Q6600!

Cons: Runs at 60 Celsius idle, 66 Celsius full load. Good in terms of heat increase under load, but 140 degrees Fahrenheit is a bit too much for comfort... Even when merely idling...

Other Thoughts: In-game specs coupled with 4 GB's DDR2 800 RAM and a Q6600 2.4 GHz stock and max graphics set: 120-150 FPS in Unreal Tournament 2004, 60 FPS in Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour (Possibly capped? Dips down to 10 FPS when the game is being heavily bogged down with maximum players), 64 FPS (Capped) in Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, 30-100 in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (But down to 5-15 when a huge coaster is being placed). Sorry for not installing Crysis, Unreal Tournament 3, and Command and Conquer 3 yet, I've been rather busy with messing with my G15 LCD screen ;D.

Awesome!

Pros: This thing kicks complete rear-end. I've had it a month now, I don't know what the bench markings are on it for me but it's running Crysis and Age of Conan on max resolution and graphics with virtually no problems. I'm coming from a Radeon 9800 PRO so this was a big upgrade.

Cons: It's relatively large fitting into the case but goes in fine.

GREAT -

Pros: built a 9800 gtx / quad 6600 / ps & c 610watt psu
make sure u have good enough psu for this, its also HUGE cod4 250 FPS 1024 graphics on

Cons: HUGE card, takes up 2 pci slots thick wise, and about a FOOT long
gets hot, change fan to 100 % and keep the control panel open, other wise it will reset on reboots and when u close out the program, they have fixed this yet

Other Thoughts: its just SUPER BIG, get a big case

Pros: It's a 9800Gtx, of course performance will be amazing.

Cons: I'm building this system for a buddy. I bought a really sweet antec case for it, and this card is actually too long to fit in the case. About 1/4" interference with the hard drive mounts.

Other Thoughts: Thought I would post this because the physical size of this card NEEDS to be taken into consideration.

P.S. newegg/nvidia amazing as always.

A pretty good product

Pros: - Performs as specified
- New nVidia beta drivers with CUDA (174.xx or greater) support F@H GPU client beta
- runs Crysis and BioShock at 1920x1200 still very playable (avg. 30+ FPS)

Cons: - Much larger than specified on datasheet provided by eVGA.
- Doesn't seem to OC well (though it is already clocked high from the factory)
- Requires a monster PSU with 2x 6-pin PCIe cables
- Gaming for a few hours causes heat-related crashes and artifacts both in game and on the desktop.

Other Thoughts: The card itself seems to perform well, though not quite as well as in some of the benchmarks that are floating around. This is most likely due to the slow relative bandwidth of my RAM (DDR1 @ DDR510 3-3-3-8-1T).

My biggest problem was that the card was a full 2 inches longer than listed on the PDF spec sheet from eVGA. That made me quite unhappy as I had to break out the dremel on my HDD cage to make the thing fit. eVGA seems to have corrected the specs now, hopefully in part to my irate phone call to their tech support dept.

All in all, it was a good buy for the price, but I am still debating on whether or not to RMA the item through eVGA because of the artifacts. Apparently they have really good customer service now, even if they are still figuring out how to get past their reputation as a "grade C" producer of computer hardware.

Decent card

Pros: coming from a 8600GTS SLi setup this card blows that out of the water! No problems at all! To answer s-dawg's grip abuot the fan is use the EVGA precision tool. you can change the setting of the fan! I use it and it workes wonders, even OC's the card for you.
It's big as you all know. A snug fit in mt NZXT full tower. I suggest you run a driver sweeper and reinstall new drivers, so you don't run into issues. <my grip below, in cons>
I can run COD4, CS:S, adn Crysis all on max resolution 1650X1020 and runs smooth as silk.

Cons: My only issue why this card lost 1 egg was because it likes to freeze up while gamining! It's soo annoying! Ran driver sweeper, installed new drivers from EVGA. monitor my temps on the Precision tool and still, not temps beyond 60 degrees and it freezes. I suppose I can deduct another Egg but since this card works wonders they still get 3 eggs. EVGA forums have been no help either. Considering Step-up or just RMA it back to EVGA! Really defeats the purpose of me buying this card if it doesn't go well with games!!

Other Thoughts: Cliffs: Great card, performs like no other! Freezes while gaming. Runs fine if I am not gaming, but I bought this card for the sole purpose of gaming. :o\

680i mobo (a1), 750 thermaltake psu, OCZ 2gb ram, 150 gb raptor HD, E6600 spu, Zalman 9700 cpu cooler, and sits nicely in NZXT full tower.
