Still a great card after three years - a classic

Pros: Quiet, plays most games at 1920x1080 at High Quality, reasonable TDP power use

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This card is a classic, a workhorse, even after three years. I just replaced it with a 7870 today and it still outperforms nearly everything in the market under $200. I have loved owning this card and I only gave it up because I got such a great deal on the 7870 and I can sell this one.

No service

Comments: Customer service at this company is horrible. takes days in between emails of they choose to answer you.

Comments: I lost about $900 on these cards, when I tried to register the serial numbers on the cards, XFX always said "Could not find serial".

Good card, loud

Pros: Can run Crysis, Metro 2033, and pretty much anything else out there with max everything at 1920x1200.

Cons: When I'm playing a demanding game such as Crysis with everything set to max the fan shoots right up to 100% and that makes it very loud. Not a huge deal I guess but it's still very annoying.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core i7 930
GB X58A-UD3R rev. 2.0
Antec Nine Hundred 2

Dead Cooling Fan :(

Pros: Good performance with maxed out settings on games running at 1920x1200

get between 40&60 FPS steady clocked at 895/1295
the odd time i do get some chugging when there is a lot going on, usually when in a high object area with draw distance set at max...but that can make even the highest end cards chug a bit

Cons: Fan died just before the device was a year purchased.
The unfortunate problem I've had with this card is when gaming the drivers do not auto adjust the fan to account for the increased activity, thus forcing me to manually set the fan between 60%-70%. This will keep the temperature of the card around 56 degrees but the fan is quite loud at that high setting, and could likely be why the fan died so early

Catch 22...if i let the fan run at the auto setting (25%) the card will run hot at around 80-85 degrees, and i run the risk of the card burning out

if i run the fan high to compensate for the temps, then there is the risk that the fan dies (which it did)

Other Thoughts: For the 430 dollars i spent at the time, I would expect that the product would have a much better life...this is the first card i've ever owned that had the cooling fan die

Amazing Card

Pros: -Really Fast, can handle all games I have at max specs.
-Looks good
-Is quite, I can't hear it and I have my case on my desk right next to me
-Seems to run quite cool
-Does not cosumer a lot of power at all

Cons: -None that I can really think of

Other Thoughts: This is an amazing card. I was origianally going to get two of them but one is more than enough. I was a bit skeptical going for an ATI card as I am used to Nvidia, and was waiting to get a GTX 480 when released but I am glad I didn't. This is the best card I have ever owned. An Nvidia GTX 480 does slightly out-perform this card but it's not by a lot and the price difference, on top of the heat and the power the GTX 480 consumes, makes it a poor choice. You can't go wrong with this HD5870, if you want more power get two of these or an HD5970- I don't see why you would need that much power at the moment if you just want to max out games, it's really not necessary

Great card+ Great service

Pros: A blazing fast GPU that stays relatively cool and consumes low power. Eyefinity would be a plus if I had 2 more monitors. So far I've played most modern games and this card seems to be able to handle maxed out graphics (MW2, Metro2033, Bioshok2, OFP2, Stalker COP, etc. The only game it wasn't able to max out was ARMA2-it would get choppy so I had to lower detail in that game to medium-high. In most games I was getting more than 70fps even in the action parts.

Cons: I bought it back in Oct/Nov when they were constantly selling out but availability seems ok now (especially since fermi came out).
The first card I got was starting to have problems after about a month. I thought it might have been driver related so I waited for the update and the GSOD problem update, but those didn't solve the random game crashing (GSOD) and scintillating green pixels on the desktop and other 2D apps. So, I started a trouble ticket with XFX who promptly gave me some suggestions to trouble shoot. That didn't work so they issued an RMA. Once they got it, they tested immediately, found the problem and sent me a another one (not new but working well) all within 24hrs. I received the replacement within 48hrs. I would have preferred a new one but at least this one works well so far after 4 months. Also, this card is not overclock friendly at least not using ati tools-I haven't tried any other tools but gave up.

Other Thoughts: I probably buy another one soon for xfire, esp. if I can find a good deal on on open box or something.
