Works with linux

Pros: Fanless cooling. Works with Linux.

Cons: Price. DDR3 instead of DDR5.

Other Thoughts: I used this in a new AMD/ASUS build and loaded it with Suse 11.3. Suse installs the nouveau drivers by default. They work but they won't allow fancy desktop effects or even adjustment of monitor resolution. It is simple to go to the nvidia section of the opensuse site and use their one click install to not only add the nvidia repository but also install the correct drivers at the same time.

In my case with good ventilation this card is idling at 36C. Not bad, and no fan to worry about.

Works quietly w/o having to upgrade power suppy

Pros: I bought this because my old 6200 nvidia card was hitting 100+ temps. This guy, with NO FAN but with monster cooling fins, never gets hotter than 47c and it usually runs at 38c. I'm running it on an Lenovo M58P with a 285 watt power supply (they recommend 18amps at 12 volts for this card - more important than watt rating - I have those 18amps on my power supply). Since I am not a gamer, I avoided having to buy a new power supply and get great text resolution on my screen. Also, there's a utility in the enclosed software that allows you to control the cards speed while running windows. Running ubuntu 10.10, the software runs the card as fast as it needs to, so the clock rate goes from high to low depending on what I'm doing. I'm seriously considering getting a second card to put in my other computer to replace its the noisy 8600 nvidia card.

Cons: Had to play with the disk to get the software off of it. The process of software installation could've been a little smoother.

Other Thoughts: Great value for the money for non-gamers who want good resolution w/o having to upgrade their power supply and want a quiet computer.

Perfect MCPC card

Pros: No fan to make noise.
More than enough power to drive any mcpc function.
HDMI audio passthrough is integrated in the card (the card has an integrated digital audio device) so you don't even need a soundcard or mobo-embedded sound).

Cons: Heatsink-of-doom wraps around the edge of the card which may not work well in all cases. However, it just exactly fits perfectly in my Silverstone GD05.

Other Thoughts: If it fits in your case I don't think you'll find a better nvidia-based mcpc card and it's hard to argue the price. I caveat "nvidia-based" simply because I personally loathe ati/amd for video and thus didn't do any fair comparison to with their offerings.

I haven't tried gaming with this nor would I, it's clearly not aimed at that market. It drives every video, including bluray, that I've thrown at it marvelously.

Experience with card is is from use in a home-built mcpc:
Silverstone GD05B mcpc case.
Asus Maximus III GENE LGA1156 micro-atx mobo
Intel Core i3-540 dual-core cpu
G.Skill 4GB (2x2) dual-channel PC3 10600 kit
Azio micro bluetooth 2.1+EDR adapter

Pros: Idles at ~40C, and with load goes up to 70. My previous fanless card, a 7950, went up to 95C, and this one is still faster than it, so this is definitely an improvement. There is one slow rpm system fan mounted in the back of my case. Because of the way the heatsink on this card is designed (it takes up a separate case card slot for the exhaust), I might be able to increase airflow for it by switching the fan to the front of the case.

Cons: 70C is still a bit warm, but as long as it works...

Other Thoughts: Since it is not mentioned anywhere on the details page, I contacted their support to find out that this card draws about 30W at idle and just over 60 on load. This version does not have sli support, although there is another identical model by the same manufacturer that does sli out there.

Does the job quietly

Pros: Silent
Cooler than expected

Cons: It's not faster than a GT240

Other Thoughts: Works great, temperature is lower than I would have expected during heavy use or idle.

Nice Card

Pros: Well Built. Low Temperatures at Idle. Comes with overclocking software. (I actually underclock it when I am not gaming). A great choice if you want HD playback and are an occassional gamer. Love the fact that it is silent. =)

Cons: Does not support Direct-X 11, but not a very big deal.
Takes up the space of 2-PCI slots. May not be good for a small HTPC Case.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card over the PowerColor HD 5670 (passively cooled ) even though it is a little less powerful. The reason is because my research tells me that this card would take up less power and run cooler. In my mini-tower with only 1 case fan sucking air out the back, my system idles at 32 Celcius and this Video Card idles at the same temp. While playing Company of Heroes, it goes up to 50 Celcius. Also, I am only using a 350 watt power supply!

Design flaw limits usage

Pros: It's an ok card mostly for low-demand graphics needs.
Silent

Cons: It is too weak to be a gaming card by itself and it will burn in a small htpc case if you want to use it in your media pc.

So the best use for this card is either in a quite/silent office pc or as a Physix card.

Unfortunately, the top part of heatsink wraps around the card making it unusable for multi gpu situations (SLI, physx). I bought this card with the intention of using it as a PhysX card next to my geforce480 and I had to cut that top part of the heatsink in order to be able to install it next to the 480. That little part of the heatsink doesn't really serve any purpose and only there for cosmetic reasons.(my temps actually improved since I took the heatsink off and replace the thermal paste) Unless you are good with Dremel, don't buy this card if you are planning to have more than one video cards in your system. You will not be able to install two cards on 90% of the motherboards.. ZOTAC is a good brand and they offer many other models with regular coolers.

Other Thoughts: Newegg service was great as usual.
