Question 1

Are the posts bolted to the base or inserted into the adjustment slots/holes?  I can't determine the construction from the posted photographs.

The posts are secured with the supplied bolts.  You should have no trouble securing the posts.  If you tighten the properly, it will be very solid.

Question 2

Would  a Dell poweredge 2950 fit in this rack?

Possibly, but off the top of my head not sure.  I'd have to do some measuring.  Would depend on the Dell mounting brackets.  Might be a little to close together.

I did find a shelf that drops in nicely.  Do not know if Newegg carries a shelf for this rack or not.  Probably not supposed to mention other brands, but if it helps Newegg sell more of these racks, do not see any issue.  Great Lakes 4 Point Stationary Shelf.  Manufacture#:  7206-FR-AHD

Question 3

Is the weight limit because of the low quality casters/wheels? If i upgrade them will the weight capacity go up?

I'd assume so but, the amount of weight I have on this little rack is staggering and it still rolls.  It's sturdier than I thought it would be.

No assembly instructions needed. There is a total of 4 pieces and can only be assembled one way. It's very sturdy.

my experience w/ supermicro rack mounted servers is:

without the rails, not a prob.

with rails, nope.

if you're going to throw a few servers on this rack and forget about them (my case), then you don't really need the rails installed as you can just stack your servers up from the bottom , held down by gravity and the servers front bracket only. problem w/ that though is pulling one server out means you'll be popping units off all of the units on top of it until you get to the one you need.

Question 6

I need to know was is required to mount a HP Proliant DL370G6 server into this rack?  I need any and all parts necessary.

Unfortunately, I have only mounted CISCO equipment in the rack, and used the screws that came with it. From reviews I have read it appears that equipment on rails might not work with the rack, but that is just based on reviews from other people. I personally love the rack for what I'm using it for, it's great. Good luck!

Question 7

can I put a dell 2950 server in this rack?

I see that the distance between the support frames seems to be less deep than a conventional 42u rack.

it's fine I put all of my cisco gear in there and had plenty of room for pdu's etc in the back.
