Awesome

Pros: Bought one of these over 4 years ago to use in my personal desktop. It stays on 24/7. While doing some overdue maintenance and upgrades I decided to open this power supply up and blow it out with a can of air. It was caked in dust and filth - really gross. I've been negligent with the maintenance. I was amazed though that there wasn't any swelled up or leaky capacitors. I'm not a big fan of that much glue though, but they got good caps in these units.

Cons: This model has been around a while. It only has a 6 pin connector for graphics cards.

Other Thoughts: Not really. EDIT: has now been almost 3 years since I wrote the review. This PSU is still going strong! I'm convinced cooler master is a nice brand. Buy it

doesn't last

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: I bought one for a system that has very light use and at just past the 2 year warranty this unit is providing inconsistent power causing false symptoms of failure across the system. At one point it appeared as if I had a bad NIC, a bad HDD, even a bad motherboard. It wasn't until the "bad" components started piling up that I started to question. Luckily my NVidia card popped up a warning and told me that the power was insufficient and that it was degrading its performance as a result. Otherwise no telling if I would have figured it out. Once I replaced this power supply, I was able to put all my original components back into the system and it is running fine again.

Other Thoughts: inexpensive but don't expect it to last.

A good basic power supply.

Pros: This is a very quiet power supply, and has more than enough connectors for my home-built PC. Easy install. Back running in a short time. This replaced a five year old power supply, and I suspect it will keep running until I build another.

Cons: no cons

Yup- that's what it is

Pros: It didn't blow up my mobo or my devices, -that's always a good sign... I'll update this review if it doesn't last, but if it's the same as my last one, it should last as long as the mobo.

Cons: It refuses to make my morning coffee!

Other Thoughts: Replacing a 7 year old Rosewill DR-8500BTX. This is slightly lower wattage, and it's not black, but hey, it works peachy.

Plenty of Power

Pros: Gives plenty of power. Has all of the necessary connections for SATA Hard Drive, DVD drive and the 24+8 pin for the Motherboard.

4 years later this has been passed down to my kids PC and is still doing its job, which is supplying power.

Cons: None

Budget oriented

Pros: I bought this power supply in 2010, and it's still going strong, and has been used across multiple builds. I have had to service the fan a couple of times, clean dust, oil the fan, etc......but it's all still going just fine. I am only just now replacing it just because I need more wattage, although due to its age I'm thinking that it's probably a good idea to replace it anyways. 7 years is a good life time for a power supply, especially a cheap one. I'll just shelve it as a backup.

Cons: -12v rails are split and only deliver 326w total.

Died in six months of light use...

Pros: Affordable power supply on the low end of the list of available power supplies. Comes from Cooler Master - been around for quite a while, good rep. Powered an older AMD system with AGP graphics just fine, as the computer was drawing less that 300w under full load. Measuring power with a testing unit showed stable 12v, 5v, and 3v rails and seemed to run quiet, was cooler than the unit that came with the HEC/Supercase power supply it replaced.

Cons: The power supply I have is produced for Cooler Master by Foxconn, who is behind some of the better brands but also some of the worst on the market. This power supply quit working unexpectedly after six months of light use - no overclocking on an AMD based system that draws 243w under normal use and 148w when in standby.

Other Thoughts: Cooler Master RMA opened, after sending in purchase receipt.... Without receipt the warranty is off date of manufacture and would have been expired before I purchased it, go figure. Make sure to register your purchases and send them a electronic copy of the receipt so it is on file with them.

Cooler Master should either find a different supplier / builder or up the warranty length on this model. Having it last less than 6 months of light use is not good at all, considering that $10 more gets a top quality budget unit from $easonic or Cor$air....
