Comments: For a permant fix I took it apart (there are screws under the stickers, too) and put a solder-less connector in place of the switch (black wire to white wire.) No problems since.
Comments: i thought it didnt work but i put it in my other machine and it works fine. still it melted some plastic piece but now im wondering what is causing that, may not be the PSU fault at all.
Comments: I really gotta stop using IDE devices and upgrade to SATA only. IDE is so outdated.
Pros: Cheap.
Cons: Died after a day and a half. (Thankfully it did not take out anything but its self)
Other Thoughts: Most people say you get what you pay for, but I did not pay for the inconvenience of a electrical burnout. Live and learn I guess.
Pros: Worked great for a little bit, Cheap, handles Decent amout of power
Cons: I have only ever used about 300 of the 580 watts, and after about half of a year of usage, a resister popped inside the power supply (took it apart to verify), allowing more than twelve volts to flow through the rails, Blowing up my motherboard, my CD drive, and my 2-1 terabyte hard drives at the snap of a finger instantly costing about 300$ in a beautiful display of smoke.
Other Thoughts: Thank you newegg, Oh thank you for your fine Cheap products

Pros: Price and Ability
Cons: After normal use on machine and about 18 months into life, power supply defected causing massive surge damaging and destroying itself, motherboard, optical drive, hard drive, also destroyed KVM and the adjacent pc connected to same KVM (mother board)
not good surge management
Other Thoughts: the power supply followed it's electronical homicide with smoking very visibly i hope sunbeam will offer some assistance in repairing at least the device if not the effected ones as well. i'm contacting RMA status of all devices involved but not sure how well they're going to cover the massive defect of 1 power supply
