Amazing performance

Pros: Runs smoothly and without a hick up. Can handle just about anything you throw at it. I use it to perform computations for BOINC and play video games. Thing is a beauty Worth every penny

Cons: Bit pricey compared to the competition but if you want the best right now...
Takes some finessing to open the packaging haha

Great cpu for gaming/streaming/working

Pros: - It has 8 cores
- It has 16 threads
- It boosts up to 5 Ghz
- It runs games very well with my 1080Ti
- It renders things as fast as NASA

Cons: - The price, of course
- It gets pretty hot. (I have ML240R as my cooler)

Other Thoughts: - Switching from a non OC 7700k, it feels good.
- If you're able to play extra bucks, go for it!

i9-9900K air cooled

Pros: It's a very nice step up if you haven't upgraded in a while.

Cons: Runs hot. More about that below.

The plastic "penta-cube" thingy box it comes in was cracked in two places when I received it and had a loose piece of plastic rattling around inside. Odd because it was the only thing in the shipping box that was bubble wrapped. Makes me think it left the shipping center damaged. The CPU was fine but it kinda hurts the resell value, no? Disappointing. Minus one egg on Newegg for that.

Other Thoughts: You can air cool this but you have to nerf it. I know, I know, not ideal but some of us have limited options. I was getting runaway voltage and temp spikes running stock. This worked for me (YMMV):

First, get a good diagnostic like CPUID HWmonitor so you can find what's best for you. I'm dealing with a cramped cube case with little CPU head room thus I'm using a low profile SilverStone SST-NT06-Pro. In the BIOS, disable Turbo Boost and set the Base Clock (use +/-) to a number between 36 and 43. Obviously, the lower the number, the cooler it runs. Save and Exit. That's it. No need to mess with the voltage. (Guys with the big tower air coolers that have fans that run at 100mph can try higher but at some point, you may need to add voltage.) The consolation prize here is that, paired with a good video card, you can game on ultra settings without the CPU alarm squawking at you and the temp exceeding 80C+. I have a MSI RTX2080 and am getting 65 FPS in the Assassin's Creed Odyssey Benchmark and that is acceptable to me. Also, some games may need to have the FPS capped at, say, 60 so as not to introduce the extra heat.

9900k

Pros: good multithreader :what 1950x(optimized defaults) did for me in 25min, 9900k(at stock speed) did in 32min and 8700k(at 5ghz all6) did in 38min. single-dual core work was on par with 8700k at roughly 12 min while 1950x was crossing the finish line at 22 min. price is very much a mirror of these results(for those who can't justify the price tag). tested with same os, same ram, same m.2 . At 4.93 Ghz all cores 9900k does the multithreaded test in 28 min.
What the 3770k at stock(3.9 ghz) does in 5 days(roughly 120hours continuous run) , 9900k at 4.93Ghz does in 14 hours(continuous run and while doing some other things at the same time) although os, ram, storage and programs edition used are all different. For those who care.

Cons: not much room to overclock HOWEVER it is set from factory to run at over 5Ghz on 2 cores and over 4.7 Ghz on all 8. running mine on a z370 at 4.93GHZ x 8 on air at 1.23 vcore temps going to 70'C but never higher.

Other Thoughts: games fine.

Great CPU

Pros: Extremely fast and was able to set at 5GHz with ease on an ASUS Maximus Hero XI Board (Pushed 5.1GHz for fun and had no issues).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: System is built with ASUS Maximus Hero XI (WiFi), GSKILL TridentZ DDR4-4000/CL17, Samsung 970 EVO 1TB, Corsair H100i V2. I read online about people having issues with heat and keeping stable at 5GHz specifically on the same board I have, I have not had any of these issues. Under load I have not seen this CPU go above 55*C with my cooler and have not had any stability issues at 5GHz or even 5.1GHz when I tested.

i9-9900k

Pros: Very fast
Perfect for gaming
Overclocking was easy

Cons: Not a 10nm but 14nm
Price
Still CoffeeLake

Other Thoughts: Honestly I couldn't really think of too much. I didn't run into the heating that others have. As in gaming I'm at 40c with a corsair h100i pro. So I didn't want to put it as a pro. The i7-9700k will still perform very much the same. I very much love the CPU as this will last me for quite sometime. I wouldn't recommend it due to the price and would say just buy the i7-9700k. Still 8 cores just only 8 threads instead of 16.

Outstanding all-around performance

Pros: Gaming and converting powerhouse for daily use. Dual boot Windows and MacOS

Cons: Requires enthusiast-grade cooling and/or voltage adjustment in BIOS depending on your mainboard
Enthusiast pricing

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte mainboard did supply 1.4v vcore with auto settings, through trial and error I found limiting to 1.3v when adjusting fsb ratios also gives a stable 5.0ghz all-core overclock and doesn't go over 80C during stress testing.
