Why does this keyboard need two usb connections?

To function it only needs one, the other one is there because on the keyboard you can connect your mouse or any usb directly to the keyboard and that is what allows you to do so. One for the keyboard to work and one for the USB port on the keyboard to work. Although you only need the main one plugged in for the keyboard to work

If I'm buying this keyboard should i be getting coursair gaming headphones aswell? I've read somewhere that they have cool feautures if you use multiple coursair pieces of equipment. Correct me if im wrong

No. If you have that in mind go for one of the higher end ones that have more features. The only color for this keyboard is red, and the only thing I did was use the program to make my corsair AIO red as well.
