First VR [Mixed Reality] headset system, completely blown away

Pros: -for glasses users! there's enough room for slick style glasses to fit in there without being in the way
-detachable display port plug from headset.
-clicking stop flip up style headset
-removable Velcro face cushion for easy cleaning and replacement. (cont in cons)
-the boxed it's packed in its strong cardboard bearing the blue Hewlett-Packard color and logo, can be reused as a case when not using the headset
-with the steam beta for mixed reality you can basically play all the VR games, with the acceptation of some.

Cons: -the sticky cushion part already separated from its Velcro backing after 10 hours. Had to super glue it back in place. not worth the trouble of returning just for that.
-just a little screen door especially noticeable in white walled games
-if your head size is huge (size 8.5+) be sure to do your measurements because may not fit comfortably.
-runs on 4 AA batteries, 2 in each controller

Other Thoughts: -purchased to be sent to california, came from canada, took 1 week, free shipping
-was sent in a recycled and refitted ama-z0n box that still had the logo and ama-z0n prime tape.
-there is a sticker on my box that said it was originally sent through XPOLogistics and returned new to HP centralized return center in Tennessee which my particular box set number was 521 of 1134
-If playing the game religiously be sure to purchase rechargeable AA batteries at least 8 4 while playing 4 while charging.
-If its your first time getting a VR/MR headset this is a good choice especially when on sale compared to a 500 vive. it doesnt use the tracking or full body capture but it still works with many of those game thanks to the 2 cameras in the front.
-been playing almost non stop for the past few days still running like a charm no complained over the overall build and handle quality on the headset and controllers. only con is that it doesnt come with rechargeable style batteries because it will drain fairly quickly especially if you play crazy long you lose track of time and suddenly the battery low warning comes on.

Disconnects from input

Pros: -Looks nice and it's easy to set up

Cons: -Arrived defective and disconnects from input whenever you turn your head

Other Thoughts: 1. I Took everything out of the box and followed the steps to set it up.
2. I connected to steam VR and started a game (Summer Funland).
3. I turned my head left (looking up and left) and the input disconnected and returned me to my desktop.
Upon further investigation I found the headset disconnects from input whenever it's slightly moved around.
I've tried it on 2 different computers (i7 4790k / gtx1070) (Fx 9590 / gtx970) with the same results.

great entry vr

Pros: when it goes on sale you can't beat it. until recently it was hardly supported by games. steamvr has gone up by leaps and bounds. I use mine to play Fallout VR. Skyrim VR. Doom VFR. it's natively supported with a free windows mixed reality download on Steam. Got mine for 400 with taxes. higher resolution per eye and no sensors to stand around the pc.

Cons: not OLED screens. no physical IPD slider. doesn't have the widest FOV.

Other Thoughts: Amazing for getting a feel for VR when it goes on sale. It seems to have lots of sales compared to the oculus and rift. the trade is no built in headphones. marginally worse tracking. controllers use batteries. now that it has been fully patched in natively to all steamvr you can't go wrong. if you want you can even use another program called revive. if your on the fence wait for a sale and take that plunge.
