Great Laptop

Pros: -Powerfull Performance never disappointed with fps
-Great sleek design, mean looking
-SSD makes for great performance compared to my prior laptop which had just a terabyte of HDD
-32GB need I say more

Cons: - Heavy making it hard to lug around (which is why most people buy laptops instead of PC's) but I don't mind it.
- Battery life needs some work

Awesome Specs, Great Performance, a few annoyances

Pros: - Runs Incredibly cool even when stressing the GPU
- Fast Boot Time
- USB Type C Port (Definitely a plus)
- Fast Charging USB Devices (don't need to hog two outlets to play games and charge your phone / tablet)
- G-Sync Monitor (nuff said)
- NVidia GTX 1070 GPU Runs games buttery smooth
- Doesn't sound like a helicopter taking off

Cons: - When Rebooting and coming to your login screen, neither Num Lock nor the brightness level of the keys retain their previous setting (so if you use a PIN to log on its fumble around in the dark until you find Function and F4)
- Sound Quality could be better (sounds rather muffled)
- Cables get "stuck" in the ethernet jack, need to wiggle a bit when trying to pull them out.
- Screen Resolution caps out at 1920 x 1080
- There has been a single backpack known to fit this unit and that's the everki titan https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834991535

Other Thoughts: Granted all of these things, I do enjoy many of the great features this device has. I mostly use headphones when using this so the speakers are not the worst issue. I occasionally use the ethernet jack but try to stick to wifi. It's not gigabit but at least it's 802.11ac. The two things that annoy me most is that We have the incredible specs and a monitor that is barely taking advantage of them and a "getting started in the dark" issue of wanting to be able to see my keys when the machine boots.

There are other things on the machine that I just plan to do not use, the quick launch M keys, the Video Recording Button (which you can't change the setting for what it launches in the MacroKey software)

I do enjoy this machine and plan to for many years to come, but I do feel that QA at Asus didn't do enough Quality Assurance on the prototype before these went to production.

Rewriting my review after several months.

Pros: - 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD, GTX1070, i7 6820HK. It is a beast, need I say more?

- Runs quietly.

- Build quality: really sturdy. It is made out of plastic however it's survived a dozen trips through the airport without any trouble.

- Runs any game I've thrown at it at max settings without stuttering or massive frame drops. Dishonored 2, Diablo 3, Doom, No Mans Sky, Fallout 4, Overwatch, Path of Exile, you name it.

- Cool as ice. This thing puts off way less heat than my old laptop and that is saying something. The gpu and cpu idle around 40-45 degrees and while overclocked and gaming it hovers around 65-75 degrees celcius.

- The design is aesthetically pleasing. It's a real head turner. Even now, months after I've gotten it, when I open the case every morning, it still gets me. My wife probably wishes I looked at her the way I do this rig. Haha.

- Good customer service via ASUS.

Cons: - The mapping for my "c" and "0" keys got swapped during an update about a month ago. Typing came out as "ab0defg... c1234..."
--- Read 'other' section for hotfix.

- A new driver release slowed my gpu down to a crawl - memory frequency was throttled to max at idle and fps were under 10 in any game, even League of Legends.
--- Read 'other' section for hotfix.

- The screen's refresh rate is only 75hz....... Seriously regretting this buy because of that alone. I was looking today and saw MSI rigs for the same price with 120hz refresh rate. Its just a bit too slow for serious gaming. For this price I don't see why it shouldn't have the upgraded resolution and refresh rate.
--- In hindsight I really wish I would have gone with the I7-6700HQ with the 120HZ in exchange for the 6820 and 75HZ.

- The price.

- The front edge of the ROG cases are rather sharp and if you do not use an external keyboard it will leave marks on your arm.

- The speakers aren't loud at all but I'm always using either headphones or external speakers so NBD for me.

- Most of the USB connections, along with the power input and ethernet input are on the right side, where your mouse is at , making things quite cluttered.

- The thing is massive and heavy. To be expected for a rig with this much stuff packed into it and a 17" screen. NBD.

- The bios is pretty basic. You can't control power, fan, or OC settings through it.

- A bit too much bloatware but some of it such as the gaming center, geforce experience and the streaming app are quite handy.

- There was the slightest problem with the packaging. On the back side there were styrofoam blocks attached to the fan with zip tie-like plastic things. One of those was snagged somewhere on the inside of the vents and I've to this day still not gotten it out, I just clipped it down as far as I could. I didn't wanna damage my rig by tugging on it too hard.

- No customization of the keyboard back lighting.

- Fingerprint and dust magnet.

Other Thoughts: - @Jonathan H. and anyone else experiencing the issue. I fixed the keyboard issue by going to the asus website, looking up drivers for the ROG G752VS, and downloading the one labeled ASUS Keyboard Adjustment Tool Version V1.0.3.0.

- As for other driver issue. I downloaded the VGA driver (V21.21.13.6956) and that fixed it. Apparently the one released in December was unstable or just incompatible with my rig.

Downgraded it from 4 stars to 3 because of:
- The whole keyboard issue really irked me. I was dealing with that for almost two months. Asus couldn't come up with a solution and didn't offer to have it replaced. It took me that long before I found the keyboard adjustment tool which made me feel kinda dumb and doubt asus's expertise. Will probably buy from MSI next time.

- I don't have a ton of knowledge of computers, just enough to get me by, and at the time of buying this thing I thought 75HZ was good. But it's not and it took me this long to realize it. When you pay this much money for a top of the line rig, it should really be top of the line all the way across the board, not sub par in some regards.

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for taking the time to share your amazing comments on our product. I am sorry to hear that you experienced issues with your device. Not Stoked

Pros: Looks good.
Great specs

Cons: I am super irritated to find that this laptop does not support Windows 7. Asus has grifted us and if you buy this thing you will be stuck with Windows 10, which is the biggest piece of garbage Microsoft has passed in a long time. Another super irritating "feature" is that the keyboard light does not remember it's settings after reboot and good luck trying to find the keyboard light in the dark. It's a real shame because the hardware specs on this machine are awesome.

I hate being "that" guy

Pros: The performan0e on this laptop is great! It runs everything very well. V

Cons: Well lets see here, I need to start typing words that have 0 in them no not zero, c, be0ause everytime I have to 0on0iously think about typing be0ause I just re0eived an update from asus that swit0hed my 0 and c keys so everytime I want c to by in my word I have to type 0. It's only slightly annoying and ASUS is "0urrently working on it" and providing zero 0ompenstation to it's 0ustomers that spend thousands on a laptop only to have the 0 button not work. It's been over a week and they still haven't fixed the issue a 0ureently it's making me very frustrated and disappointed in my pur0hase.

Other Thoughts: Does anyone else have troubles typing on the keyboard without the tou0hpad getting hit? I know you are able to disable it, but windows is supposed to have an option software wise where the keyboard gets lo0ked out while you are typing. I 0annot seem to get this to work. 0onsequently I hit the pad and the mouse 0li0ks somewhere else and it stops my progress of typing.

If I could do 3 1/2 eggs I would. Since others are giving it a 4, I will just do 3

Pros: - The system specs just speak for themselves
- No problems running regular games so far but the CPU is running a bit toasty.
- GPU runs cool for how much i have stressed it

Cons: - The case used for this system seems to be the same as what you would get for laptops at half the price. I would be ok with it looking about the same if they actually fixed some of the downfalls of it.

- The finish around the touch pad tends to look dirty pretty fast. The edge where the palm of your hand rests is sharper than it should be.

- A majority of the ports are on the right side of the laptop (same side as your mouse) So if you are using more than 2 USB devices or plug in other peripherals, than you will have some mouse interference. I would much rather the drive come out the right side of the laptop because the drive will hardly ever be open and when the drive is open, generally you aren't using the mouse.

- The cooling system doesn't seem sufficient for an overclocked processor. The processor is regularly hitting 96C playing battlefield 1. 96C is only 9 degrees from Tjmax which is a bit scary to me.

- I am not happy with the software for monitoring temperatures, clocks, and overclocking. Every time I restart my laptop or go from sleep to on, the software is automatically setting my processor to be overclocked and since the overclocked processor is running so hot, I am not happy that it keeps switching the clocking. The clocking software should have statistics and graphs. Right now it just has a snapshot.

- The macro keys on the keyboard could be great if the software was useful for creating actual macros. It does have the functionality to record macros but all other functionality you would expect from keyboard macro keys isn't there. Where is the option to run the macro over and over until the key is pressed again? Where are the other features?

- VR seems to be having some driver problems with laptops so I think that is more of a problem with VR than this laptop.

Other Thoughts: While this system has great specs, I just kind of expected more effort to be put into specific aspects of the laptop. The performance software and macro software leave a lot to be desired and the case design leaves a lot to be desired. The case the laptop components is in is just a re-used case with some problems that could have been fixed but wasn't.

The bloatware actually wasn't as terrible as I was expecting it to be. I think any bloatware is always a disappointment especially with a $2500 laptop though and it just doesn't belong on a laptop made for gaming.

Strong Showing

Pros: Very fast, 1070 mobile is faster than any AMD card, and most 900 series
>60hz monitor
GPU hovers in 75-80 range
Wifi card is fast
samsung NVMe SSD...yes please
keyboard is well laid out

Cons: CPU out of the box pushes above 90C
ASUS always puts a lot of bloatware
Sound quality from speakers isn't great, mixed with bad location means you are unlikely to use the speakers for almost anything
The macro keys stop keyboard input. If you are holding W for example, and press a macro key, your W will stop being registered until you press it again. Hopefully this is fixable through software update, but still a rather annoying oversight.

makes me want to upgrade my desktop :(

Other Thoughts: Usually ASUS laptops are problematic for me on wifi front, glad to have one they made it a priority the wifi was working well

Would have liked to see either 1440p or 120hz on the monitor, coming from 144hz desktop to 75hz, the laptop feels a little sluggish. Gsync doesn't make up for lower refresh.

As Joseph P has stated, coming out of "Extreme mode" keeps CPU temps in check, would also recommend doing the same.

Any laptop with this much power will not have a long battery life, so if you are looking for that, look elsewhere.

Nicely built laptop, OC by default is dangerous.

Pros: - Sturdy design, feels very solid. Bulky, but solid.
- Doesn't come with too much bloat, and easy to get rid of.
- Screen is crisp and clear
- 1070 in a laptop is absolutely killer

Cons: - CPU (maybe GPU as well?) comes OC by default, as this is an "OC Edition". I ran Overwatch for about 20 minutes and the processor hit the Tjmax of 100C for quite a duration. Laptop never shut down, but this is NOT good as a default out-of-the-box setting. Had to bump it down to "standard" and now I reach about 85-90C which is normal while gaming. I would NOT recommend leaving this unit overclocked.
- Speakers are REALLY poor. Extremely muffled. Not sure if this is typical for this model but I have nothing to compare it to. Using a headset obviously solves this problem but the speakers were noticeably bad.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I would recommend this laptop, just make sure to switch off the OC setting, and use a pair of headphones or a headset.
