Good, unique RPG 07/01/2008
This review is from: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES Game
It's a modern set rpg with many plot twists. Beautiful animated cut scenes. The interface and the character design on both the heros and enemies is sleek. The voice acting can be pretty amusing as well. The storyline is interesting and makes you want to play the game until the end.
Your character is restricted to what he can do in a day's time. So if you looking for a game which has hardly any limits, this isn't it. Then again, the game follows a calendar schedule.
The battle levels can get tedious.
The second game,The Answer, is very difficult. It basically takes out the fun stuff of "The Journey" and makes it into a dungeon crawler. You slay monsters, hope your party doesn't get slain before you save and repeat. And there is only one difficulty setting in this second game which happens to be hard. This is what kept the game from getting 5 stars(eggs).
Strangely, the Persona creature card system is like a dark version of pokemon in that you collect tarot cards which have certain powers and you have to level up to gain more skills in those creature cards. It is quite fun.
I would not let a child play this game. I think for a teenager it would be okay. There is some profanity, but it is not bad. I've seen some PG-13 movies with worse content than what is featured in this game.
Also, it does have a tarot card system and the talk of magic usage and its history by a substitute teacher. All in all, it's a very different and enjoyable game.
