- Color 600dpi, B&W 1,200dpi
Some manufacturers place restrictions on how details of their products may be communicated.
Fast; easy to use; excellent quality scans
Must babysit and/or check output for doublefeeds; must manually select color mode to get greyscale on B&W photos
I see I'm not the only one to say that this thing is life-changing. It is! I have been scanning and recycling numerous boxes, shelves and file cabinet drawers of paper, and it's really starting to make a difference here. Yet everything I've scanned so still fits in only half of the 16 GB flash stick Newegg tossed in as a freebie!! Amazing.
Other than the hassle of removing so many staples from my old documents, the #1 drawback is a propensity to double-feed pages. I have to either babysit it while scanning or check the output to ensure that doesn't happen, and that can be very tedious. I found that feeding unstapled documents bottom-edge first reduces the likelihood of double-feeding.
Automatic color detection works well except that B&W photos are scanned with only one bit per pixel. To get a full grey scale I must force color mode on these documents.
I've had none of the software problems reported by other users. Other than the problem just mentioned, It Just Works.
