Good card at a value price! 03/29/2010
This card was just what I was looking for in a card. I just purchased a HP Slimline pc and needed to upgrade the video to be able to play WoW on this system. Being a slimline pc I needed a half card with low power consumption. Most cards specified a minimum of 300w + psu to run and my pc comes with a custom 220w psu. Would this card work? Yep, it works just fine and my frame rate in Dalaran went from a dismal 14 fps to an average of 42 fps. This is a good card for the budget minded.
Two things kept me from giving this card a 5 egg review. The first one is the lack of documentation. There is very little, but that isn't of much concern to me for what I'm using it for. The second issue is possibly an issue with WoW more than with the card. Sometimes when I start the game the card quits working and the game crashes. Upon reboot everything works great and there are no issues. I've been told that others are having similar problems since the latest patch and that it is being worked on.
I'm running on a HP Slimline s5310y
AMD Athlon II x2 250 Dual Core
Windows 7 Home 64 bit.
If you are looking for a low power, passive cooled, half height, budget card this is a good deal.
