2 out of 5 eggs another UPS manufacturer to cross off the list for future projects 12/01/2010

This review is from: CyberPower Intelligent LCD Series CP1350AVRLCD UPS

Good price, nice size for rated capacity (when compared to old UPS'), option for USB or serial communication, Ethernet protection

The box advertises "Up to 148 minutes of backup power" (when powering a certain type of computer).

What a load of you-know-what!

After charging my new UPS for a full day (a minimum of 16 hours per the instructions), this unit only shows 85 minutes of power available- WITH NO LOAD!

That means with no load, it can only deliver 57% of what is advertised with a load!

Perhaps I just got an old unit with aged batteries, so it can't operate to advertised capacity. Perhaps this is just a faulty unit. Perhaps it's false advertising. Who knows? Whatever the reason- this unit is very disappointing. I may be returning to newegg.

Other Thoughts:

Only *one* transformer sized plug? Come on! Poor design. You can't use an outlet strip without voiding the warranty (it says so in the manual), so your out of luck if you have more than one accessory that has a transformer/plug cube.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your review on CyberPower's CP1350AVRLCD. The CP1350AVRLCD is able to handle a maximum of 810 watts - the equivalent of an performance PC and LCD monitor. The 148 minutes of backup power is for a maximum load of 50 watts. The unit comes fully charged and the LCD display provides details on the battery capacity. The issues you describe are not typical, and we would appreciate the opportunity to quickly resolve the matter. Please contact us at your earliest convenience. Please contact the Technical Support team at 877-297-6937, or, Monday thru Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (CST), so that we can immediately act to completely address your issues and ensure your total satisfaction.
