This review is from: MSI TV@nywhere Plus Tuner Card

Pros:

It's not outright defective, you can get FM and TV signals with it. World design, tuning is rather precise.

Cons:

Awful audio stuttering when your computer isn't idle, lousy remote (would have been a pro if it wasn't so impotent). FM antenna is pretty messy: I have a 20 year old boom box with a better self-contained metal antenna. GUI is ugly, slow, and not really intuitive.

Radio lacks a direct-frequency tuning (need to punch + or - many many times or make your presets, and even then goes by .05 MHz increments, instead of 0.2 MHz increments in digital FM tuners, or even a reasonable 0.1 MHz.

TV Time shifting is not automatic, you need to be actively recording. It's not like a DVR that automatically has a buffer saved off somewhere. TV maximize doesn't honor aspect ratios, even if you set it in the options. Absolutely silly software.

Overall Review:

I don't have a cable tv hookup near this install so I'm going to put my knowledge at 3. I've previously used an ATI TV Wonder so I am familiar with these sorts of things, and I have a separate tuner hooked up via composite.

First was the FM and the cheap antenna is quite sensitive. Shifting a pole mms away from where it is could mean the difference between static and crystal clear sound. I guess it's sensitive, but a proper antenna would help immensely. Plus, there is no mounting hardware. Am I supposed to tape it to my wall?

In both cases, anything going on with your computer will causing stuttering. It has it's own IRQ. It doesn't have an audio bypass, so it must be sending raw audio across the PCI bus so when it gets busy...

I guess for a cheap adapter it works, but I don't recommend it. The problem with catering to a price below basic functionality is that now if I ever want to upgrade to a real video input card, I won't get an MSI. 1st impressions are everything.
