This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS 9500 AM2 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink
Holds its value.
I bought this originally from Newegg in 2007 for a new AMD Athlon 64 X2 and it always worked beautifully. I upgraded to an AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black with all 4 cores unlocked.
Temperature stays cool. It's currently at 37-38 C, which is about 10 degrees above my ambient room temperature.
Fan and heatsink work so well I actually turned off all the other fans on my tower except the rear stock 120 mm. The CPU fan is actually quieter.
I bought it for $49, and the price has stayed the same all this time. Another good sign it was worth the initial buy.
The "fan speed controller" never stayed on very well, and it would occasionally seemed to turn the fan-speed to very low, prompting a boot message of "You CPU fan speed is set too low" which would force a reboot until I turned the speed up.
This was easily resolved by removing the fan controller entirely.
