This review is from: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
Pros:
Added this to my existing 2GB GSkill kit for 6GB of dual channel memory.
Cons:
DDR2 memory is way more expensive than DDR3.
Overall Review:
Don't set this to 1066 in the BIOS for a Phenom II. Setting it to 1066 only provides a marginal increase in performance over DDR2 800 and puts too much stress on the memory controller. You need to leave it set to 800 and increase the reference clock to 266 (and lower the multiplier if necessaty) to take full advantage of the bandwidth. Doing so provides me with a 50% increase over DDR2 800.
