Never worked properly 11/26/2011
The idea of a single card with 4 tuners.
The combination of the PC, Ceton Card, cable card and the tuning adapter (provided by my cable company) have never all come together to work for more than a few days at a time. Ceton writes their own drivers to work with my Cisco 1520 Tuning Adapter (provided by TW Cable) and dispite a couple revisions over several months, they have yet to get it right. I frequently lose the ability to tune in channels and I typically need to de-install and reinstall software to properly use the product.
The idea behind the Ceton card is great… a single PCIe card that allows the user to view/record 4 HD channels simultaneously. In reality however, there are a lot of moving parts; card itself, multi-stream cable card, Windows 7, Windows Media Center and a tuning adapter. For me, the tuning adapter provided by my cable company has been a constant source of problems. Despite my best efforts, it’s never worked properly for more than a few days at a time. Ceton has been relatively responsive but after several months of attention, they have yet to produce a solid solution.
