- Poor graphics performance
- Terrible keyboard
- Inconsistent trackpad
- Full of bloatware
- Poor viewing angles
Slow graphics performance was something that I did not expect at all. I do a bit of photo processing and as soon as I started working on it I noticed how much slower it was than my 4-year old Dell XPS with a dedicated ATI card. When I did some measurements it appeared Asus was 2 to 3 times slower in Gimp (raw conversion, denoise, blur, etc.).
I read reviews where people complained about the keyboard not registering clicks but I thought they were just being cranky. Well, they were right, it is really frustrating to use.
The screen resolution is high so everything is very small with the default Windows settings. You can easily make it bigger, however you'll also have to tweak individual applications too.
The vertical viewing angles are small so you'll have to make sure you put it right in front of you otherwise the colors get washed out easily. Again, in this regard my old XPS is so much better.
Overall, I am disappointed and so the ultrabook ended up on an auction site.
