Not good for RAID 06/25/2012
- Drive series is excellent
I tried two of these drives in a RAID 0 configuration for games and after a couple months of use one of them failed on me and I was forced to buy two of the retail versions instead. I used the remaining drive in a RAID 5 and now it seems to be causing some faults there too.
If you're doing a RAID, go for the retail versions and save yourself the grief.

We are very sorry to hear that your drive did not function so soon after it was delivered. Western Digital does rigorously test and verify all of our drives, prior to shipping, with burn-in and diagnostic tests. As a troubleshooting step, we recommend running either our WINDLG diagnostics software or Macs built-in Disk Utility to check your drives health.
