Voltage is set to low 07/23/2012
It runs much cooler than most other cards. But its big and 3 cards deep.
The voltage is set at 1013mv which is to low for most higher end GPU intensive games like BF3. At stock speed and 1013mv, you are bound to crash to desktop at random. If you try and overclock this card to say... 800, it will crash/freeze even worse.
The solution for me was to use MSI afterburner and set the voltage manually to 1030mv. The second I did that, my freezing stopped while running the card at default speeds.
If you want you overclock it to say 800mhz, mine needed the voltage at 1050.
For such an expensive (at the time I bought it, it was cutting edge), Im pretty bummed I have to manually set the voltage using an overclocking software.
While the card looks cool, I dont think I will buy another asus video card again. Ive had bad luck with this card and a asus DX2 sound card so I think I will stick with there motherboards only here on out. My P8P67pro has been flawless so far.
