Hot CPU !! Dissapointing ! 08/02/2012
Works Flawlessly at design speed
Not as good as the Sandy Bridge 2600K for OC: poorer design for getting heat out of the CPU Chip = hit the thermal limit at lower frequency than the 2600K, using the same water cooler (H60). So, I end up getting slower speed marks (IntelBurn, LinX, wPrime...) than with its predecessor!
Be sure to buy a "huge" water cooler if you're planning to OC this CPU at all, forget the stock air cooler. I have a Corsair H50 and two other H60 on other builds, with the most recent Intel and AMD CPU's, and this is the first time I got CPU thermal throttling before the CPU speed limit! Lowering Core voltages helps a little, but you need sufficient voltages to push the CPU!
