Buggy, and bad interlacing effects at 1080i 08/27/2012
Decent recordings at 720p.
Customer service is pretty good (you have to call them- their online forum is not monitored and is almost worthless).
On-board CPU means this card will work on slower computers (mine is a core i3).
High quality component video cables are included.
20 megabit capability.
Not for use with PC to PC connections utilizing HDMI. You will likely get a 25% failure rate on your recordings (corrupted files). There is a driver issue which apparently has not been corrected. This issue is reported by multiple people on the Hauppauge forum:
Either the video stops recording at some point, or the duration of the final video reads "23 seconds." Either way, the file is useless.
Really bad interlacing effects on 1080i, on anything motion or sports related. I would image video games would be really really bad. I'm still motion sick from watching one of my recordings! Unwatchable.
Some loss of color in recordings.
Online Hauppauge help forum is a ghost town.
Two second sound delay behind video, ALWAYS.
No HDMI cable included.
Did I mention the interlacing effects?
No dramamine pills included.
A good card for 720p recordings for those with slower computers, and who are lucky enough to not experience bugs. If you have driver issues, just return it. It could very likely happen.
