nice and big! it's a fast hard drive, that's for sure!
the unit failed once after installing multiple OS's. i recovered the hard drive from major errors using seagate's seatools software - which took hours up hours. but the data was recoverable before the seatools operation.
i then picked up the notion that perhaps too many directories destroyed the drive's ability to operate in stable condition; only using the drive as a storage medium in a thinkpad laptop which spun constantly in a second hard drive bay. never once gave me a problem.
and i was right, because when I put an OS on the unit to run - it just destroyed itself in less than a week; only this time i lost all the data and could not recover the drive, no hard drive controllers at all could even detect the drive. luckily i backed up the entire drive before initiating the operating systems.
had to rma it.
these drives are junk. fill them all the way up, half way, or even a little, and they are extremely unstable.
with people rma'ing this particular unit over and over again, i am one witness of that.
