long battery life. works with linux 10/07/2012
This review is from: Logitech MK550 2.4Ghz Wireless Wave Keyboard and Mouse Combo - Black
plug and play in OpenSuse linux (11.4, 12.1, and 12.2). The OS recognizes the keyboard immediately. Even the volume and mute buttons work. Have not changed the batteries in the keyboard in almost 2 years of regular use. Iike the padded hand rest.
Gave the mouse to my wife and used logitech software to link keyboard with universal receiver for my M705 marathon mouse's universal receiver. Could not do this in Linux. Had to use Mac. My wife just replaced batteries in her mouse.
Slightly different layout for home/end/delete/page up/page down buttons. Had to get used to that as I use those buttons frequently. As a side note, if you don't use home and end regularly, give them a try in web navigation, spreasheets, and word processors. That along with ctrl + arrow keys can improve navigation via keyboard tremendously.
