Underwhelming performance 10/19/2012
120hz, large screen
Sharpness too high with no ability to turn it down (reading text will give you headaches), yellowish tint on sides during bright screens, in dark screens (movies, most games, etc) blacks look distorted or "shiny" which dulls colors significantly, red and green ghosting, dead pixel in center of display
I need a new monitor as this one is dying. I decided on this Acer for the potentiality of using 3D at a later time, and because it was on sale for what I thought was a steal. I always read negative reviews and think something like "that won't happen to me" or "they don't know what they're talking about", and as I have never had to return a Newegg product before now that mindset has largely been justified.. until now.
The primary problem is somewhat like this: Look at an LCD monitor from too low an angle (instead of your eyes being level with the top of the screen look upon it with you eyes level with the bottom of the screen). You should see things get darker (especially at the top) and colors dull. That is what this monitor looked like all the time.
I planned on using this monitor for movies and games, but no amount of tweaking allowed it to be usable. I was excited to find this gem on sale, but extremely disappointingly had to return it.
On a side note, Newegg *and* their customer service is A+ in my book.
