Great Processor! 11/13/2012
This review is from: Intel Core i5-3570K - Core i5 3rd Gen Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Intel HD Graphics 4000 Desktop Processor - BX80637I53570K
Pros:
Great processor, runs a little on hot side.
Cons:
During installation, the 4 prong of the heat sink bent backwards, and I failed to notice, during testing operations, the processor would jump in 20 degree increments up to 88 degrees C. Pretty large issue. I stopped on the way home the next day and picked up the Corsair H100 self contained water cooler. Upon removal of the stock heat sink, I noticed the bent prong, as well as the fact that only about 60-65% of the processor had thermal grease on it. I cleaned it off, applied some AS-5, and installed the H100. Have not broken the 31 C threshold under heavy load yet.
Overall Review:
Great CPU, not so great heat sink. Plastic connectors, that can break or bend easy. When buying, think about a better more robust air or water cooler for it.
