This review is from: Crucial 8GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3L 1333 (PC3L 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT102464BF1339
Pros:
I bought three sticks for two laptops. The first is a Sony Vaio S 15" 2012 model with i5-3210M. It has 4GB RAM soldered to the MB and one memory slot. I installed one 8GB stick and it worked without a hitch. CPU-Z confirmed that the memory runs in dual channel mode.
The other machine is an early 2011 Macbook Pro 13" i5 2.3Ghz. It runs OS X 10.6.8. I installed two 8GB RAM sticks. The computer immediately recognized that it has 16GB DDR3 1333 RAM. I ran Apple Hardware Test, both basic and extended, and found no problems.
Cons:
None.
Overall Review:
Crucial is a subsidiary of Micron, so you know exactly what chips you'll get. Even though this model number does not say that it's for Macs, from what I read, it's identical to model that is marketed for Apple. Crucial has DDR3 1.5V and 1.35V. They say that the 1.35V is Apple compatible. If you have 2011 Mac with SODIMM, this RAM is an excellent choice.
I'd also like to try the DDR3 1600 on my MBP to see if there is performance gain.
