This review is from: NETGEAR N300 802.11n WiFi Range Extender (WN2000RPT)
Worked, kind of, and was cheap
Locked up 3 times in 2 days. Less than half the speed of my other supposedly identical Netgear repeater
I bought this for $25 to have a backup since my phone and business computer depend on a repeated signal from my main router (yes, I know this isn't an ideal solution, but there are reasons it has to be this way). I purchased one of these new a year ago and it has worked like a champ (unlike several other previous repeaters from other brands). This refurb unit was not stable and was less than half the speed of the unit that I bought new, with identical settings and even after reflashing the firmware. I noticed that its power button was on the opposite side of the power input from the other one, so there appear to be multiple generations of this device. If you can get a current one, it works really well. This one, not so much. Hope the replacement (as a refurb this is replacement only) is a more current version.
