This review is from: NVIDIA Gift - Assassin's Creed III Game Coupon

Pros:

Bottom line, I refuse to load up my computer with bloatware, spyware and probably viruses just to play this game. This game isn't free, you pay for it in terms of all the bloatware it will load on your computer if you wish to play it, which could cause other problems as far as slowdowns, performance, or conflicts. At the very least, you will get spam mail for which there is no way to opt out. That's not free. A steam game, would be considered "free" but this isn't steam. The worst part is that Nvidia knows this. This speaks volumes for that company, who I have gone with for about a decade but will switch to ATI after this card since this company is pulling too much garbage. 192 bit on their card is just so they can sell you another one in a few years. Plus Pysx is a farse. There is no reason modern computers should have any problem with that since the N64 was doing good physics with golden eye 15 years ago.

So what I did was go on another computer (that I didn't care about messing up) and go through all the gyrations of registering with ubisoft and bla bla bla until I got my CD key emailed to me. I had hoped that I would be able to then use that key and activate the game on Steam. Nope. Can't be done. That's the bottom line. So therefore I will not download this game, which I'm sure is fine with Nvidia because they probably have to pay Ubi-Soft a couple of bucks per download. Ubi-Soft probably takes a loss on each download but makes up for it with all their bloatware.

Cons:

I have a big problem with being forced to run this over ubi-soft engine. It's not worth slowing down my prestine computer over this game, which in the end probably isn't that great anyhow, even though I really wanted to play it.

Overall Review:

If you're smart, just treat this like you didn't get any game with your new video card. I don't think running the ubi-soft software is worth the risk. And then, to add insult to injury in the end the game may not even work or may not be that great.
