I have a laptop that was defective out of the box. My customer, however, disposed of the box and i was told by new egg that i should still send what i have back to be reviewed for defect. A week after my item was received (the max number of days the rma says it will take + the day they received the item) i'm sent an email saying i need to contact newegg because i didn't include the box. I was told i didn't need that or i wouldn't have shipped it to newegg....
mind you the defective laptop has now had it's entire line pulled from newegg's website.
So i hop on live chat with newegg (very quick response, as always) and I'm told the same thing... "your rma can not be processed without the original box" so i explain that i was told i didn't need the box otherwise i wouldn't have sent it. shouldn't there be a way to look this up? as i've had this happen before with a missing power cord that was lost during shipping and i was just charged for that cord.
Well i guess there isn't because i was then told that the entire newegg system is down and i'll receive an email with further updates as soon as possible. Whaaaaaat? how convenient....
it's now been two weeks without my laptop that was defective out of the box... All i want is to have this squared away and a working laptop that i payed newegg for...
