Too many rma's 04/30/2013
When you have 1 that works properly its AWESOME and would get a 5 star review for how nice a working one actually does. This card is cheaper than the other manufacturers. You get what you pay for. Sometimes not always that. v5pcb is very nice. full load temps of only 71C and idle temps around 34C. Great temps for a card that pulls this much wattage. Yes its loud and has a right to be.
1st card I started the rma process 7 days after purchase due to immediate overheating. Took over a month to get an rma then a week to get replacement. Replacement lasted 3 months and the vrm's blew. Sadly I had bought a 2nd 7970 xfx card for crossfire just a few days before which runs great btw (v5 pcb very nice) and I cant even register it about a week prior to. New support site is problematic as it can be. Contacted them numerous times about login problems. At first only using the user name worked. Then that part failed on login too. Resetting password fails also. So I am locked out of my account. Reactivating the account does no good. newegg@xfxforce will always respond faster in my experience than any of their other emails. The people that you do finally get ahold of are quite nice but getting to them is a real pain. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you DONT want to wait a week for a reply.
I am a system builder and have processed hundreds of rma's over the last 20 years from many other brands. XFX support used to be better than this. This has been by far the most difficult and disjointed process I have seen to date of any of the manufacturers. Buy something else unless you feel lucky that you will get one of the good cards which are awesome. Or as soon as you get it, stress test it and be SURE you have absolutely no issues with it at ALL before your 30 days with newegg is up. The version 5 pcb is non reference so you can NOT use the reference liquid coolers. Not a problem for me but if you want liquid cooling, your in for a battle.
