Great when its not freezing 05/21/2013
This review is from: AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6GHz (3.9GHz/4.2GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor with Liquid Cooling Kit - FD8150FRGUWOX
Pros:
Pretty fast, makes video rendoring quite a bit faster than my last rig!
Cons:
The day that I started installed this I started getting random freezes, I figured I was low on wattage so I threw a new power supply at it. That didn't end up being the culprit (but I got a new power supply with my wifes blessing because of it, I will call that a mixed con) so I checked every single component to no avail and it was still working fine when I swapped in my old CPU. The random freezes are still a continuous plague, and waiting for the new PSU put me past the 30 day swap warranty with newegg... Which led me to AMD "support" where I was given a windows update that had no effect, then I was told to contact newegg and ask them to help me troubleshoot the problem and to make all further requests for tech support with newegg...
Overall Review:
This really makes me wonder about my continued loyalty to AMD, I know it's more bang (in numbers at least) for your buck, but if this is how they treat customers with broken products, I am no longer interested in that kind of "savings."
