Super-Silent 07/04/2013
This review is from: Fractal Design Node 304 Black Aluminum/Steel Mini-ITX Small Form Factor Computer Case
Pros:
-There is just enough space to add all of your high-end components.
-Awesomely SMALL
-Fits my huge Hyper 212.
-Can support a long video card up to 13" I would say... mine is 11.27" and there's more space for about 2 inches
-SILENT case fans.
-Integrated fan controller; which contributes to the super silent case fans.
-Looks sleek and cute HDD LED at the bottom right of the front of the case.
-Black Interior is always a plus :)
Cons:
-Can only support a PSU up to 160mm; PLEASE make sure that if your PSU is modular it needs to be at least 5-10mm less than 160mm.
-Bring zip-ties or any cable managing mechanisms, you'll need them.
-The fan filter for the GPU hits one of my GPU's fan blades a bit but just enough that it makes a buzzing noise. I fix this by placing heavy books on top of my case to stretch the shell that the case covers; which works, but after my GPU's fan speed picks up, the problem remains.
Overall Review:
-a modular PSU can be extremely useful when it comes to cable management
-Again, make sure your PSU is no longer than 160mm IF you have a long video card (sorry I didn't mention that above); but, regardless it should be less than 160mm (My older one was 20mm too long :c )
-I couldn't reach the bottom left screw of the PSU mount because its cramped in a tight corner, the 3 screws shall do though.
-Heat inside the case doesn't seem to be a major issue considering its such a small case. Usually stays idle at 30C with the fan controller on "M", which should be 6v.
-I REALLY wish I could have given this case 5 eggs but, the shell that covers the case being either too long or short did affect the rating...
