Some manufacturers place restrictions on how details of their products may be communicated.
Worst Device Ever - Segate no help 09/17/2013

This Drive has destroyed so much data, and has locked down all the drives so I can not change them, I am at the point only a full format can be done.
This NAS has cost me sooo much time.
1. Never use the crypto
2. Never change the firmware
3. Never turn it off
4. Never keep any data on it you care about
To top it off Segate has no help other then, well you can format it and we can downgrade it to a Black Armor-NAS.
Also Segate does not think the problems are chronic. So they will not do a recall or replacement program.
This is the last Segate product I buy, time for me to learn about WD.
If you bought this and have any problems, RMA it quickly.
